When my husband is not at home, Is it permissible for my stepson to lead me and my daughter in Salaat?
A. Your stepson may act as the imam and lead you and your daughter in Salaat. You and your daughter should stand in a row behind him. He has to make intention of being the imam of the females behind him. This is an essential requisite for the validity of your Salaat behind him. In his mind he should simply make the intention: ‘I intend leading the females behind me in Salaat.’
