INSAAN – ALLAH’S NOBLEST CREATION

“Verily, We have ennobled the  Children of Aadam (Insaan), and

We have carried them on the  land and the sea, and We have

nourished them with Tayyibaat (halaal and wholesome food),

and We have granted them great superiority over numerous

of Our creation.”

(Surah Al-Israa’, aayat 70)

Allah Ta’ala has deputed the Mu’min man to be His Vicegerent on earth. Insaan is a creation enjoying vast superiority over all other forms of creation. Even the Malaaikah had been commanded to prostrate to Aadam (alayhis salaam). The Sujood was commanded to illustrate Insaan’s superiority over even the sinless Malaaikah.

Insaan will remain ennobled and superior as long as he retains his insaaniyat (humanity). When man extinguishes his attribute of insaaniyat, then he degenerates to depths far below the level of even dogs and pigs.

The methodology by which secular education is imparted in this age, i.e.  the western secular system, effaces almost every attribute  of Islamic insaaniyat. All the noble attributes of moral excellence which sustain insaaniyat are utterly extinguished by the libertinism which is innate in the western system of education. The immoral, debased, perverted lifestyle of the students of western universities is vociferous and conspicuous evidence for this reality.

One of the prime effects of the immoral cult of westernism is sexual perversion – perversion which puts even the shayaateen to shame – perversion which  not even the lowly beasts of the jungle indulge in. Western education cloaks sex perversion such as gayism. lesbianism, homosexuality, masturbation, oral sex and many other forms of  sexual perversion  initially unknown to even the shayaateen, with respectability. Even such perverts which put the shayaateen to shame are accorded respectability in western civilization.

“THEY WILL BE

DESTROYED”

Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: “Soon shall be destroyed from my Ummah the people of the Kitaab and the people of the milk.” He was asked: ‘Who are the people of the milk?’ Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: “They are people who follow their lusts and destroy Salaat.”

The “people of the Kitaab” in the context of this Hadith does not refer to the Ahl-e-Kitaab (Yahood and Nasaara).  Nabi (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) clarified that they will be people from “my Ummah”. They are deviates such as the modernist zindeeqs and the ulama-e-soo’ – those who halaalize carrion, attend MTN zina and liquor shows, worship in churches under crosses, legalize kuffaar sport and in general subvert the Aayaat of the Qur’aan and the Ahaadith to extravasate such meanings which are in total conflict with the Shariah. They are the people of lust. Their Salaat is a farcical show. They perform Salaat in the style of the munaafiqeen.

All of these evil slaves of the nafs will be destroyed.

The BBC reports:

SAUDI CLERIC FAVOURS

ONE-EYE VEIL

A Muslim cleric in Saudi Arabia has called on women to wear a full veil, or niqab, that reveals only one eye. Sheikh Muhammad al-Habadan said showing both eyes encouraged women to use eye make-up to look seductive.

The question of how much of her face a woman should cover is a controversial topic in many Muslim societies.

Sheikh Habadan, an ultra-conservative cleric who is said to have wide influence among religious Saudis, was answering questions on the Muslim satellite channel al-Majd.”

What the Shaikh says and is promoting was the system of Hijaab which the ladies of the Sahaabah used to observe. Explaining the Niqaab system, Ali Bin Ali Talhah narrates that Ibn Abbaas said: “Allah ordered the women of the Mu’mineen that when they emerge from their home for a need, they should cover their faces from ontop of their heads with the jalaabeeb and leave exposed one eye.”

“Women emerged (during the time of Nabi (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) with niqaabs on their faces.” (Imaam Ghazaali)

There is no controversy regarding this fact which is substantiated by authentic Ahaadith. It has become a controversial topic in the ranks of the zindeeqs of the age. There is no scope in the Shariah for entertaining the baseless ideas of zindeeqs.

Q. A norm nowadays in our Muslim society is to keep company with mushrikeen and kuffaar. Muslims by virtue of such company become completely assimilated and integrated into non-Muslim society. They play soccer with them. They eat out with them and even attend their funerals. They chat with them, and confide in them. Some even conduct business in partnership with them. Please provide the Shariah’s ruling regarding these relationships.

A. The Qur’aan and the Sunnah are explicit in the prohibition of  friendship and business partnership with non-Muslims. The Qur’aan explicitly and emphatically warns of taking non-Muslims as confidantes. Associating and mingling with them on a social level  constrains emulating them – acting like them, speaking like them, dressing like them and consuming  doubtful and haraam food like them.

Foul language and interaction with the opposite sex are integral to the lifestyle of non-Muslims. Muslims who join the company of non-Muslims are also the weaker ones with grossly deficient Imaan and bereft  of  Islamic  culture.  Even their Imaan is compromised when they become integrated into  non-Muslim lifestyle.

When Hadhrat Umar (radhiyallahu anhu) became the Khalifah, he enacted a law to compel Muslims and non-Muslims to dress differently  so that  they could be recognized from their apparel and outward appearance. When Jibraeel (alayhis salaam) would visit Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) in human form, he would make musaafahah (i.e. shake hands). On one occasion, he refused to shake Rasulullah’s hands. When  asked for the reason, Jibraeel (alayhis salaam) responded that yesterday Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) had shook hands with a Mushrik.

In short, all these acts of mingling and associating on a social and fraternal  level with non-Muslims are not permissible.

Abstention from socializing and fraternizing  is not permission for displaying enmity and bad behavior towards non-Muslims. It is incumbent to display good moral character towards them and if necessary to assist them. But assimilation and integration are not permissible. It is Waajib for the Muslim to maintain his/her Islamic identity.

1 Rabiuth Thaani 1434 — 13 February 2013)

THE QUESTION OF THE HILAAL

(THE CRESCENT MOON)

QUESTION
The hilaal was not sighted anywhere in South Africa for Rabiuth Thaani, due it being overcast. However, the age of the moon was about 34 hours. In neighbouring countries the moon was sighted and today is the 2nd Rabiuth Thaani in Zimbabwe, etc. whereas it is the 1st for us in South Africa. At the end of the 30th day, the 34 hour hilaal was quite big. Does this not indicate that today is the 2nd of the new month. Should we not accept the news from neighboring countries to have uniformity in our Islamic calendar?

ANSWER

The Shariah’s principle for determining the new month is the actual/physical sighting of the hilaal. The principle is not the birth of the moon or the number of hours lapsing since its birth or of the size of the hilaal. This principle is inviolable and was established by Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) himself, and on which there exists Ijma’ (Consensus) of the Ummah – of all Four Math-habs. This has been the Shariah’s way since the time of Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam).
The factors mentioned in the above question are irrelevant, having no Shar’i significance whatsoever. The following Hadith recorded in Muslim Shareef refutes these irrelevant factors:
“Abul Bakhtari narrates: ‘We set off for Umrah. When we reached the Valley of Nakhlah, we saw the hilaal. (Due to its large size) some people said: ‘It is the moon of the third night.’ Some said: ‘’It is the moon of the second night.’ Then we met Ibn Abbaas, and we said: ‘We saw the hilaal, then some said it is of the third night whilst others said it is the second night. He (Ibn Abbaas) asked: ‘On which night did you see it?’ We said: ‘On a certain night.’ He said: ‘Verily, Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: ‘Allah deferred it (the hilaal) for sighting. It is the (1st) the night you have seen it.”

In another Hadith in Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah, it is mentioned: “Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: ‘Of the signs of the nearness of the Hour (of Qiyaamah) is the hilaal will be seen immediately (on its appearance without the need to search for it). It will then be said (by people): ‘It is the second night.”

Due to the large size of the hilaal, there will be no need to search for it as is the case at the end of the 29th night. People will then comment, as they do nowadays when they see a large hilaal, that it is the 2nd. Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) and the Sahaabah rejected such conclusions, and affirmed that it is the first moon. Thus, if at the end of the 30th day the moon appears large and bright, it will be in conflict with the Shariah to create a controversy based on the large size of the hilaal.
The issue of unity or uniformity is drivel. Just as Muslims perform Salaat at different times all over the world, without this constituting an interference in unity and uniformity, so too is it with the sighting of the hilaal. If it is the 1st in Zimbabwe, there is no Shar’i adversity or problem if it is still the 30th here in South Africa. The problems develop when people attempt to supersede the Shariah by endeavouring to transform a non-Shar’i issue into a Shar’i issue. The Deen is simple. Rasulullah’s command was: “If you see the hilaal (at the end of the 29th) then begin the fast. If the hilaal is not visible due to it being overcast, then complete the month 30 days.” The problem is that people are not satisfied with this simple Ruling of the Shariah. They seek to override Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) with their whimsical ideas such as ‘unity’ which has no relationship with sighting the hilaal and commencing the new month.
Whilst according to the Hanafi Math-hab, news of the hilaal sighting from other countries is acceptable, there are two factors which inhibits the Muslim community from accepting such news:
(1) There is no absolutely reliable connection in Shar’i terms between us and those in neighbouring countries or countries further abroad. Most of the Muslim organizations elsewhere, especially in our neighbouring countries are Salafi dominated. They rely on Saudi funding, and the Saudi regime utilizes its funding to assert its hegemony globally over Muslims.
(2) Half or perhaps more than 50% of the Muslim community consists of followers of the Shaafi’ Math-hab. Far-off sightings are not valid according to the Shaafi’ Math-hab. It is unreasonable and not permissible to capitalize on the ignorance of the local Shaafi’ sheikhs by imposing on the Shaafi’ community the Hanafi Fatwa which is not valid in terms of their Math-hab. The acquiescence of outfits such as the MJC is of no significance. The MJC is not a valid spokesman or voice of the Shaafi’ Math-hab. In fact, due to the acute dearth of Knowledge in the ranks of the MJC sheikhs, the Hanafi Ulama are better poised to advise the Shaafi’ community in terms of their Math-hab. In this age of anti-Taqleedi’ism, it is imperative that all Muqallideen adhere with tenacity to their respective Math-habs.

Another very important consideration is that the desired superficial ‘unity’ which is sought by forging unification of Ramadhaan and Eid with neighbouring countries, will never be achieved. On the contrary, it will culminate in greater disunity in South Africa for the simple reason that there is no single group of Ulama who can claim to represent the entire Muslim community of South Africa.
Different segments of the Muslim community have their own allegiances. Thus, the Mujlisul Ulama of South Africa, Jamiatul Ulama Gauteng, The Original Jamiatul Ulama Transvaal (Waterval Islamic Institute), Jamiatul Ulama Eastern Cape, Jamiatul Ulama Western Cape and many other organizations will not accept any decision by any Ulama outfit who enters into any hilaal agreement with neighbouring countries.
In view of this scenario, what does intelligence dictate? Eid on two different days in South Africa, with one segment of the community celebrating with Zimbabwe, etc., and another segment on a different day. Thus, whilst there will be a farcical ‘unity’ of a segment of the South African community with Zimbabwe for example, there will be real disunity and friction in the Muslim community of South Africa. Hence, the coveted ‘unity’ is a pipedream.
In addition, the Shariah does not demand this type of phantom unity. It is not part of the Ta’leem of the Shariah to forge Eid with other countries. Eid in all Muslim countries on the same day would be a valid demand if the Islamic World was governed by an Ameerul Mu’mineen whose decree would be valid and enforceable in all the lands under his jurisdiction. In the absence of Khilaafat, it is every man for himself. We are all swirling rudderless in a cesspool of iniquity which has effaced even the Imaan of innumerable so-called scholars and learned men, leave alone the masses.
For ensuring peace on hilaal issues, forget about forging ‘calendar unity’ with other countries. Adopt the simple principle which Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) had formulated and which the Ummah had adhered to for the past fourteen centuries. There is much barakat in the simplicity if Islam. When people introduce complexity into Islamic simplicity, shaitaan becomes snugly juxtaposed for spreading his mischief in the community.
So when you see the hilaal big, fat and bright after 30 days and 35 hours, don’t become a Sign of Qiyaamah by commenting that it appears to be the 2nd. It is sufficient for the hilaal to be a sign of Qiyaamah. You don’t need to complement it by making yourself also a sign of Qiyaamah with your baseless comments which the Hadith refutes.

Q. Some people have dressed their Qur’baani animals and place even hats on their heads. The animals are also painted in an assortment of colours. It is all part of the fun of the Day of Eid, they say. Please comment.

A. Qur’baani is in commemoration of the supreme sacrifice of Hadhrat Nabi Ibraaheem (alayhis salaam) who had laid his son at the altar of sacrifice for the Pleasure of Allah Ta’ala. It was an occasion when the illustrious father drove the knife on the throat of his illustrious son at the command of Allah Ta’ala.
Qur’baani is not a merry-making kaafir practice to be enacted in the manner in which the kuffaar behave during their Christmas festival season. Qur’baani is a serious and a holy practice. Dressing up Qur’baani sheep as if they are clowns to be subjected to mirth and laughter is haraam. It is an absolute mockery of the ahkaam (laws) as well of the spirit and ethos of Qur’baani to make clowns of the sacred Qur’baani animals. These are such animals which will transport us as swift as lightning over the Siraat (Bridge) over Jahannum. About these animals Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said that every hair on their bodies and every strand of wool on their bodies is the equivalent of a virtuous deed. Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said that even before the blood reaches the ground, Allah Ta’ala accepts the intention of Taqwa which underlies the sacrifice.
The blood of these animals are being shed in commemoration of the Blood of Hadhrat Ismaaeel (alayhis salaam) who was offered as the supreme sacrifice of love and devotion. How then can a true Mu’min’s Imaan tolerate this satanic mockery – making a mockery and making clowns of the holy Qur’baani animals?
It is not permissible to paint these animals and to transform them into clowns The spirit of Qur’baani demands responsibility, dignity, decorum and devotion permeated by some grief in consonance with the natural sadness which Hadhrat Ibraaheem (alayhis salaam) must have undergone when he was taking his little son for the sacrifice, and at the time when he drove the knife on his son’s throat.

R asullulah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said:

*      “Just as you are, so too will rulers be appointed over you.”

*      Hadhrat Isaa (alayhis salaam) sup-plicated to Allah Ta’ala: “O my Rabb! What is the sign to indicate that you are pleased with Your creation?” Allah Ta’ala said: “I cause the rains to descend when it is time for sowing the seeds, and I withhold the rains when it is time to harvest the crop. I appoint benevolent men to rule over them. I assign their monetary affairs to generous persons.”

Nabi Isaa (alayhis salaam) said: “O my Rabb! What is the sign of your wrath on your creation?” Allah Ta’ala said: “I send the rains when they harvest the crops, and I withhold the rains when they sow the seeds. I appoint ignoramuses to rule them, and I assign their monetary affairs to their niggardly ones.”

* Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: “Allah Ta’ala says: ‘I am Allah. There is no deity except Me. I am the King of kings. The hearts of kings are in My Hands. When the peo-ple obey Me, I turn the hearts of the rulers with benevolence and mercy to-wards them. Verily, when the people disobey Me. I turn the hearts of the rulers with wrath and vengeance to-wards them. Then they (the rulers) in-flict severe punishment on them. Therefore do not become involved with cursing the rulers. On the contrary en-gage yourself with thikr and humility so that I protect you against the tyranny of your rulers.”

* Hadhrat Ali (radhiyallahu anhu) said: “Verily, when Allah Ta’ala be-comes wrathful on a nation whose destruction He has not ordained by means

of earthquakes and disfigurement, then He causes prices to soar; He withholds rain, and He appoints the worst of people to be their rulers.”

* Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: ‘Verily, Allah Azza Wa Jal says: ‘I extract vengeance from those on whom is My Wrath with oth-ers on whom is My Wrath. Then ulti-mately I shall cast them all (both groups) into Jahannum”

* “Don’t revile the rulers. Supplicate to Allah for their rectitude, for verily, their rectitude is linked to your recti-tude.” (i.e. if you reform yourselves, the rulers will become reformed.)

* “I take oath by Him in whose con-trol is my life! Command righteousness and prohibit evil. (If you do not) then the vilest among you will be appointed rulers over you. Your pious people will then supplicate, but their duas will not be accepted.”

Rulers are the reflections of the deeds of the masses. The rulers are mirrors in which the citizens can view their own deeds. A corrupt people will be saddled with tyrannical and corrupt rulers. Thus Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: “Your deeds are your rulers”. Since the rulers are our reflections in the mirror, it is unintelligent to revile our own ugly reflection we see in the mirror. If a beautiful image is desired to be reflected in the mir-ror, it is necessary for the object in front of the mirror to be beautiful.

A very ugly ignorant man who had never seen a mirror in his life once picked up a broken mirror. When he looked in it, he saw his own ugly face. In disgust he threw the mirror to the ground and exclaimed: “No wonder you have been thrown away!” This buffoon reviled the mirror for his own ugliness which was reflected in it. This is the condition of people who revile the rulers. They in fact revile themselves in the same way that the buffoon had thrown away the mirror and reviled it.

In the Hadith Qudsi, we are instructed to reform ourselves and become obedient servants of Allah Ta’ala. He will then either reform and tenderize the hearts of the tyrannical rulers or replace them with kind, benevolent rulers. It is quite obvious from the many Ahaadith of Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) as well as stemming from the Qur’aan-e-Hakeem that in general, cruel and oppressive rulers are the con-sequences of the evils of the masses, and that the solution for the oppression and tyranny is not vilification of the tyrants. On the contrary, it is self-vilification, soul-searching, regret and repentance. Moral reformation and sub-mission to the Shariah of Allah Azza Wa Jal will bring about a peaceful revolution which will see either the change of heart of the rulers or their replacement by benevolent rulers.

It is also quiet clear that the basic theme of all the Ahaadith on this sub-ject is self-reformation, for only such reformation is the enduring solution for the tyranny of oppressors. However, shaitaan has succeeded in casting the Ummah into the massive deception of believing that the problem is for exam-ple Hosni Mubarak, Gadhaafi, Asad and the host of other kuffaar and mu-naafiqs who are today at the helm of affairs in the lands of Islam. These ty-rants are merely the reflections of the moral degradation, bid’ah, fisq, fujoor and kufr in which the Ummah is today wallowing in a drunken stupor. Remov-al and killing of the tyrants without moral reformation and submission to the Sunnah is simply the substitution of one system of tyranny for another sys-tem of tyranny.

The scenario of substitution of tyran-nies comes within the scope of the Hadith Qudsi (mentioned above) in which Allah Azza Wa Jal says that both groups – the oppressors and the oppressed who replace the former oppressors –are Mabghoodh Alayhim, i.e. the Wrath of Allah Ta’ala has settled on them. Both groups of scum will be swept into Jahannum. This is the situation prevailing currently in the Arab lands in the aftermath of the so-called stupid ‘Arab Spring’. Both groups are Mabgoodh Alayhim.

The other form of punishment mentioned in the Ahaadith for a flagrantly transgressing and rebellious Ummah when their final destruction has not yet been ordained, but is divinely schemed to be gradual and incremental, is drought, scarcity of essential foodstuff, soaring prices, pestilence, infighting, etc. Then when the hour dawns for the ultimate decree of annihilation, no res-pite will be granted.

“And, when We decide to destroy a place (town/city, i.e. its people), we command its affluent ones (that is, we grant them leeway to transgress recklessly). Then they indulge in transgression. Thus the decree (of punishment) is ordained for them. Then We utterly destroy them.”

“And, when their appointed time (of annihilation) arrives, it will not be delayed a moment nor advanced.” (Qur’aan)

As long as Muslims fail to understand that every particle moves by the direct intervention and command of Allah Azza Wa Jal and that the oppression which rulers inflict on the populace is the decree of Allah Ta’ala, and the solution for such tyranny is Inaabat ilallaah (Turning to Allah with Repentance), they will remain sinking in an abyss of moral degradation and humiliation to remain the slaves of the western kuffaar.

“And not a leaf falls (from a tree) but He is aware of it….”

Broken marriages: Jamiatul Ulama Gauteng’s appeal for Allah’s sake…
Assalamu-Aalykum wa Rahmatullahi wa barakatuh
In the Name of Allah, we issue this heartfelt plea to every Muslim husband, Muslim wife, Muslim parent and Muslim in-law.
The tsunami of broken marriages littering the shores of our communities, has reached tragic proportions. Each broken marriage leaves behind it a devastating legacy of hatred, enmity, traumatized kids and bitterly split families. Slandering, gossiping, story carrying, character assassination, court cases and at times, even violence is resorted in order to prevail upon the adversary which was just yesterday fawned over.
Upon reflection, the following reasons can be identi-fied for this pathetic and wretched state of affairs of our society.
1) Ignorance of what an Islamic marriage entails. Thus we find tens of thousands of rands being spent and months of preparations being made for the wedding. However, very, very little time is spent to learn the necessary laws and etiquettes of mar-riage. Despite the fact that the glittering wedding will come to an end and that the couple will need all the knowledge to navigate the ship of marriage through rough seas.
2) Despite having knowledge, there is a lack of self-control. We can purchase books and attend lec-tures, but until there is no inner willingness to change, we will not benefit much.
3) Lack of Yaqeen in the advices and solutions which have been given by Allah Ta’ala and His beloved Nabi Salallahu alaihi wasallam. This here is perhaps the saddest aspect of the current tragedy. A wealth of advice has been given to us by our beloved Nabi Salallahu layhi wasallam in order to guide the Um-mah to marital bliss. We ignore these gems and search for pebbles elsewhere and are thus left frus-trated.
We have, Alhamdulillah, extensively quoted the golden advices of Nabi Salallahu alaihi wasallam, hoping upon hope that somewhere, someone’s mar-riage could be saved.
Islam is a system and systems operate on rules and regulations. The rules and regulations in Islam are known as The Shariah. The more intricate a matter, the greater the need for detailed rules and regula-tions. To this extent, we have cited many Islamic Rulings from the internationally acclaimed Behesti Zewar compiled by Hadhrat Moulana Thanvi Rah-matullahi alayh. The information contained in this tabloid is merely a guideline.
In conclusion, for the sake of Allah, we plead to one and all not to allow ourselves to be misled by Shay-taan who is most pleased when that Nikaah which was bonded in the Name of Allah, in the House of Allah and under the banner of the Sunnah is shred-ded to pieces. We also humbly urge our readers to study and pass this issue onto others. So often do people get married without realizing the immense responsibility that goes along with it until it’s too late…May Allah guide one and all. (Ameen)

SPECIAL ISSUE:
What you should know about
proposing, nikaah, mehr, types of Talaaq, children, custody, maintenance, rules of ‘iddat, rights of the husband, rights of the wife, equal treatment be-tween wife’s, evils of zina and it’s cure, falsely accusing one of committing adultery, treat-ment of in-laws, benefits of Sabr, pregnancy, khul’a and the rewards of marriage in
Islam…
A MUST FOR EVERY MUSLIM HOME!
