THE HARAAM SANHA-MJC
CARRION CHICKEN NEXUS

QUESTION: WILL THERE EVER BE A RESOLUTION FOR THE CHICKEN
CONTROVERSY? IT IS DISTRESSING THAT ULAMA ARE UNABLE TO RESOLVE
ACCORDING TO THE SHARIAH WHETHER THE CHICKENS ARE HARAAM OR
HALAAL.

ANSWER: The problem is that those who are proclaiming the chickens ‘halaal’ are not Ulama.
They are shayaateenul ins (human devils). The inordinate craving for money has corrupted their
intelligence and severely tarnished their Imaan. They have lost all Imaani direction and feeling.
They are blinded by their lust for money. Just view the recent conduct of the MJC carrionhalaalizer.
SANHA, the other carrion-halaalizer was recently compelled beyond its desire to
withdraw its haraam ‘halaal’ certificate from ANCA carrion-chicken killing facility. For weeks
SANHA was dithering and endeavouring to keep the lid down to suppress the explosive carrion-rot
which could no longer be held down.
Meanwhile, the MJC carrion-halaalizer was slinking in the shadows, silently observing the
Sanha-Anca saga. MJC’s eye-balls were rolling with monetary lust and its mouth was watering in
anticipation of the withdrawal of the certificate by SANHA. When ANCA’s carrion najaasat could
no longer be suppressed, SANHA was forced to withdraw its confounded haraam certificate. The
moment SANHA withdrew its certificate, MJC without shame, without utilizing its dense brains
and without the slightest qualm rushed madly and blindly into ANCA’s office and issued the
carrion plant a ‘halaal’ certificate to replace SANHA’s ‘halaal’ certificate.
These Haraam carrion-halaalizers while putting up a public front of mutual co-operation for the
sake of ensuring that the carrion industry progresses smoothly, are mortal enemies. MJC accuses
SANHA of poaching in its territory while SANHA has appointed a special committee whose only
function is to keep MJC and other carrion-halaalizers under observation and to spy on them. In
SANHA’s own words, the special-task force it has established has to shadow its ‘competitors’ in
the carrion industry.
Now when this is their evil condition, there can never be a satisfactory resolution. As far as the
carrion-gang is concerned, it is not a matter of Shar’i import. It concerns their pockets –it is a matter
of money. Their hearts are totally bereft of fear for Allah Ta’ala and they have no idea of the
meaning of Hisaab (Accountability and Reckoning) in the Aakhirah.
Despite this rotten situation which MJC and SANHA are perpetuating, people of intelligence can
clearly see where the Haqq is – who is proclaiming the Haqq and who is following in Shaitaan’s
footsteps, feeding Muslims rotten, diseased, haraam carrion. For the benefit of the Muslim
community we reiterate the EVIDENCE which conclusively proves that all processed chickens
killed in the non-Muslim carrion facilities are HARAAM MAITAH.
THE PRIMARY REASONS FOR THE CHICKENS BEING HARAAM CARRION
1) Almost total abandonment of Tasmiyah.
2) Millions of chickens die before slaughter as a consequence of the electrical shocking.
3) The requisite neck vessels of millions and millions of chickens are not severed.
4) The chickens are immersed in blood and faeces filthied scalding water prior to removal of the
entrails.
5) Absolutely no halaal chain. After the point of killing, the chicken carcasses are 100% in the
possession and control of non-Muslims.
THE AGGRAVATING FACTORS
a) The total – 100% – displacement of the Waajib Shar’i system of Thabah.
b) All chickens are brutally shocked prior to the devil’s kill.
c) All the chickens are hung upside down and moved on a conveyor belt moving at tremendous
speed.
d) Each slaughter has to kill up to 60 chickens a minute.
e) The incumbent Shar’i practice of facing the chickens towards the Qiblah is totally abandoned.
Chickens are killed in motion at tremendous speed.
f) Innumerable chickens whilst still alive are plunged into the filthy scalding water-tanks for
defeathering.
g) No Jumuah and no Eid Salaat for the slaughterers. This has been the permanent practice for
years. Even in Ramadhaan there is no change in the system.
h) The majority of slaughterers totally unfit and Islamically disqualified. Many smoke dagga and
are on drugs.
i) Almost all the chickens are diseased. Non-Muslim experts have confirmed that consumption of
the diseased carrion meat causes cancer, heart diseases, salmonella, etc.
THE IRREFUTABLE EVIDENCE
A. Inspections by Ulama and others who are not connected with the carrion industry.
B. Dozens of sworn and signed affidavits by slaughterers of several certified chicken killing
facilities.
C. Investigations conducted by even non-Muslim experts.
D. Many Inspections conducted by SANHA of MJC certified carrion plants.
E. Inspection by NIHT of a SANHA certified carrion plant.
F. Inspection conducted by Jamiatul Ulama KZN who at the time was an executive member of
SANHA.
G. Minutes of a secret meeting of NNB Jamiat and Jamiatul Ulama KZN at the Johannesburg
airport.
H. A comprehensive Fatwa-statement of Maulana Yunus Patel, the then President of Jamiatul
Ulama KZN.
I. Letters of complaint by The MJC-appointed supervisors at Early Bird chicken-killing facilities.
J. Letter of complaint of the MJC to Early Bird Farms.
K. Affidavits of slaughterers stating SANHA’s attempt to pressurize them to sign fraudulent
affidavits.
L. SANHA’s 223-page secret Inspection Report in which the MJC is crucified for certifying
haraam carrion.
M. The horror of the ‘reworking’ of rotten carrion chickens – removal of the plastic wrappings
after expiry date, pumping the carrion with chemicals and washing with chlorine poison. The press
had thoroughly exposed this abomination occurring at Supreme Poultry certified by MJC. This
rotten saga is still proceeding.
N. SANHA being forced to withdraw ANCA’s certificate because non-Muslims were slaughtering
the chickens. This is a norm in all the carrion plants which these carrion-halaalizers are certifying.
O. Almost totally no supervision. The Supreme Chicken horror and the non-Muslim killers at
ANCA are further confirmation for the almost total absence of Muslim supervision.
P. Natural Intelligence which confirms the total impossibility of fulfilling the fundamentals of
Shar’i Thabah in the appallingly haraam scenario in which the chickens are cruelly reared, brutally
killed and marketed.
WHEN YOU CONSUME COMMERCIALLY KILLED CHICKEN MEAT, THEN REFLECT FOR A MOMENT
AND UNDERSTAND THAT YOU ARE CONSUMING DISEASED, POISONED, ROTTEN, HARAAM
CARRION UNFIT FOR EVEN DOGS ACCORDING TO THE SHARIAH.

Q. When I queried the status of the chickens, SANHA replied that The Majlis is ‘prosecuting an unjust vendetta’ against SANHA. Instead of responding to the arguments of The Majlis, they invited me to meet them “to ascertain the Truth”. Please comment on this response.

A. SANHA has absolutely no rational and no Shar’i response for all the corruption we have exposed. The charges are all valid and supported by documentary and other evidence. If our attacks and criticism of SANHA and the chicken plants were false, they would long time ago have sued us for defamation. The avalanche of lies which the SANHA molvis speak makes us doubt whether they still have any Imaan left. They are knowingly, deliberately and flagrantly saying that the haraam chickens are ‘halaal’. They are able to tolerate feeding the Muslim community carrion haraam chickens without the slightest pang of Imaani conscience. All this is for nothing but to satisfy their evil and morbid monetary lust. Write to Sanha informing them that you are in England. It is not possible for you to come to South Africa. Urge them to respond logically, point by point, charge by charge. They should not speak about our attitude and mode of criticism Our methodology serves people whose brains have become totally corrupt in consequence of devouring carrion and riba, and by knowingly feeding Muslims haraam, diseased, rotten carrion chickens. Every Muslim who has no bias and who may not even agree with our methodology will not fail to acknowledge the volume of solid facts and documentary evidence which we have published to substantiate that all the SANHA-certified chickens are haraam carrion. More facts to damn the carrion-certifier will be released, Insha’Allah. Rotten haraam carrion cannot be concealed lifelong. The stench must nauseate all Muslims. The invitation extended to you is just a diversionary stunt and a subterfuge to save them from responding to the facts and figures which will, Insha’Allah, haul them into the secular courts for their misleading, haraam and false advertising and lies compounded with lies and crimes. May Allah Ta’ala save us from the evil of our nafs and the snares of shaitaan.

COMMAND TO ABSTAIN

Rasulullah’s command to abstain from Mushtabah (the Doubtful) in all spheres of life is well known to even ignorant Muslims. From the time of the Sahaabah right down to this day the ta’leem (teaching/instruction) and emphasis of the Shariah have always been on abstention from anything which hovers between haraam and halaal. Nabi-e-Kareem (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: “Shun what casts you into doubt and adopt that which does not cast you into doubt.” He also said that whoever abstains from shubahaat (the doubtful things), he has saved and honoured his Deen and his reputation. When a command is issued by the Rasool of Allah, it is not to be regarded with insignificance and discarded as has become the entrenched practice nowadays. This entrenchment in the matter of even openly haraam foodstuff is one of the worst calamities the Ummah is suffering as a direct consequence of the vile machinations of the evil so-called ulama who have treacherously sold Islam and the Ummah down the sewer drain solely to gratify their inordinate monetary lusts. With the haraam monies they suck from luckless Muslim traders compelled to buy the haraam ‘halaal’ certificates, and from the non-Muslim carrion producing chicken and meat companies these carrion vendors have destroyed whatever little spiritual fibre Muslims had some years ago. There exists copious evidence as clear as daylight in a variety of forms which have conclusively established that the carrion chickens are haraam. Yet , the evil molvis and sheikhs, bereft in entirety of any vestige of Imaani conscience, move in the opposite direction of Rasulullah’s command. Instead of discouraging Muslims from the rotten carrion chickens they have certified, they encourage them to indulge in its consumption like swines and wild beasts regardless of the grave physical and spiritual diseases which the rotten, diseased haraam carrion causes. May Allah Ta’ala save Muslims whose brains have become deranged and fossilized into intellectual inertia in consequence of the gluttonous consumption of so much haraam carrion. All perceptions of Imaan have thus been extinguished.

The Life of One Battery Hen

The Incubator

Deep inside an industrial incubator filled with thousands of chick embryos, a baby hen is growing inside an egg. During the first 24 hours after her egg was laid, the chick’s tiny heart started beating, and blood vessels formed that joined her to the yolk which feeds her as she floats and grows in the fluid of her encapsulated world. The baby hen has had feelings since her 21st hour of life inside the incubator, and since her 24th hour of being there, she has had eyes. By the fourth day, all of her body organs are developed, and by the sixth day, she has the face of a little bird. Her beak has grown, and with it the egg tooth she will use to break out of her shell – the shell that was formed by her mother hen’s body, in a breeding facility somewhere – to protect her from harm.

The baby hen has comforting exchanges with the other embryos in the incubator, but forlornness is felt inside each bird that passes from shell to shell. The two-way communication between themselves and a mother hen – the continuous interaction which they are genetically endowed to expect, and which they need – has not occurred. The mother hen’s heartbeat is missing, and she does not respond to the embryos’ calls of distress or comfort them with her soft clucks. The reverberation of something continuously running outside the eggs does not spark meaningful associations, as, for example, the crow of a rooster or the sensation of the hen shifting her eggs with her breast and her beak would comfortingly do.

Still, by the 20th day, the baby hen occupies all of her egg, except for the air cell, which she now begins to penetrate with her beak, inhaling air through her lungs for the first time. The air isn’t fresh, and the baby hen rests for several hours. Then, with renewed energy, she cuts a circular line counterclockwise around the shell by striking it with her egg tooth near the large end of the egg. With this tooth, which disappears after hatching, she saws her way out of the shell. Twelve hours later, wet and exhausted, she emerges to face the life ahead.

“As each chick emerges from its shell in the dark cave of feathers underneath its mother . . .” But this is not the baby hen’s birth experience. Start over: “As the mother hen picks the last pieces of shell gently from her chick’s soft down . . . ” But this is not part of the baby hen’s story, either. Try again: “As soon as all the eggs are hatched, the hungry mother hen and her brood go forth to eat, drink, scratch and explore, the baby hen running eagerly within sight and sound of her mother, surrounded by her brothers and sisters.” In reality, none of this happens, except in memories that arise in the baby hen’s dreams as she grows and stares through the bars, in the cages that await her arrival.

The “Servicing” Area

The baby hen and her fluffy yellow companions are being wheeled down the hall in the incubator cart. When it stops, three workers remove each tray of newly hatched chicks. They toss, sort and dump the discarded shells, the half-hatched chicks, the deformed chicks and the male chicks into the trash. They smoke cigarettes between the arrival of each cart, and the tobacco fumes along with other odors and gases produce a sickish, burning sensation in the baby hen’s eyes, chest and stomach. One of her companions hops onto the edge of the tray and falls to the floor. High-pitched screeches occur as the carts, which now include hers, wheel into the next room, crushing and half crushing the fallen ones, plastering them in blood on the floor.

One by one, each chick in the tray is grabbed by a hand and pushed up against a machine blade. Now it’s the baby hen’s turn, and as her face is pushed against the blade, an agonizing crunch and pain shoots through her beak and her body causing her to flap her wings, cry out, and lose her bowels. Smoke and stench mingle, as the traumatized chicks, each with a stumped red hole in front of her face, are sprayed with something chemical, and the baby hen blanks out. She jerks awake upon feeling herself being grabbed and jammed in a cage in a dark place.

The Pullet House

Throbbing pain in her head and her beak, jostling of others around her, wires hurting her feet, air that makes her sick. The hen can never get comfortable. She cannot obey her impulse to walk and run. She is in a cage in the “pullet” house, where she and the other young hens, thousands of them, will eat mash from the trough, excrete into the manure piles, and grow until, five months later, they are moved to the layer house and into the smaller egg-laying cages. The hen and rooster who created her in the breeding facility were slaughtered while she was still in the incubator. Her brothers were suffocated at the hatchery, and she has sisters somewhere, perhaps in the same building that she’s living in.

She suffers excruciating pain when she accidentally bumps her wounded beak several times against the metal trough when she tries to eat the mash. Her body aches, her heart beats in fear, her face is disfigured, things crawl on her skin. There is no earth to bathe in. Healing, her beak develops small bulbs, called neuromas, and in time the pain almost stops, just a dull ache there, but the young hen can never preen herself properly, or eat right, although she tries, and when she and some other hens appear in a magazine picture, people who never knew her think that she and her sad companions are ugly by nature.

The Layer House

One night a hand flings her out of the pullet cage, into another cage, and wheels her to another cage. Feelings pass between herself and the other hens pressing against her, as their combs grow white and lumpy, and hang over their eyes like dough, but no words exist for these feelings, just as there is nothing in the natural evolution of hens to prepare them for this situation. When a cage mate dies and rots, the hen stands on top of her to get off the wires. Her cage is somewhere among stacks and rows of cages. She is in a universe of cages. Eggs form in her body, are expelled with difficulty, and roll away. Rats whisk through the troughs leaving pellets in the mash. They whisk in and out of the cage bars, even brush through her feathers, which are mostly broken spines now. Flies suck stray yolks in the isle in front of her cage, and one day the troughs are empty.

The End

Somehow the hen has managed to get her head and one spiny wing stuck between the bars of her cage, and she can’t free herself. Ignorant people say that a chicken doesn’t know she is going to die, but the hen knows that she is going to die. When a hand – the most brutal, cruel thing she knows – opens the cage door and pulls her backward from inside, yanking her almost in two, she shrieks as she is dropped into the bucket where other hens, oozing eggs, pieces of shells and blood await her. They absorb her into themselves, as something heavy and soft plops on top of her that moves just a little, or so she feels, in being carried away.

“Spent” Hens

The U.S. egg industry routinely deprives hens of all food or severely restricts their rations for one to three weeks, in order to shock them into producing another cycle of eggs after a year of relentless egg laying. This practice is called forced molting. Hens deemed no longer productive (“spent”) by the egg industry are disposed of in several different ways. Because they have almost no muscle tissue compared to birds bred for meat, they have little or no economic value. As a result, these still very young birds are disposed of as cheaply as possible. Many are suffocated to death in 40-foot-long dumpsters, then trucked to rendering facilities and turned into animal feed ingredients. Others are gassed and buried dead or alive in landfills or ground up, dead or alive, in grinders. Still others are trucked to “spent fowl” slaughter plants and used in school lunch programs and other government food programs. Hens travel to slaughter in cages without food or water for hundreds of miles, frequently across state lines or into Canada, often with missing feet, legs, and wings that were left behind during catching. Hens who are still laying eggs are pasted in egg slime and pieces of shells.

Male Chicks

Along with defective and slow-hatching female chicks, the U.S. egg industry trashes 250 million male chicks as soon as they hatch because roosters don’t lay eggs. Instead of being sheltered by a mother hen’s wings, the newborns are ground up alive or thrown into trashcans where they slowly suffocate on top of one another, peeping pitifully as a human foot stomps them down to make room for more chicks. Some hatcheries gas the chicks with carbon dioxide (CO2). Ruth Harrison, the author of Animal Machines (1964), said she stopped supporting CO2 gassing of chicks after subjecting herself to inhalation of various gas concentrations. She said, “In my opinion, it is no better than the old practice of filling up a dustbin with them and letting them suffocate” (New Scientist, 5/19/90).

No federal laws protect chickens in the United States. They are excluded from the Animal Welfare Act and from the Humane Methods of Slaughter Act.

Chicken injected with beef waste sold in UK

Muslims and Jews conned into eating meat bulked out with cow and pig products

Cafes and restaurants across Britain have been selling chicken secretly injected with beef and pork waste, The Independent can reveal today.

In a hi-tech fraud run by firms in three EU states, food manufacturers are making bulking agents out of porcine and bovine gristle and bones that help inflate chicken breasts, so that they fetch a higher price.

The swindle was only detected by the Food Standards Agency (FSA) using new scientific techniques because the non-chicken material had been so highly processed it passed standard DNA tests.

Thousands of restaurateurs and cafe owners are likely to have been conned into buying chicken containing the powder – which binds water into chicken breasts – while diners have been unwittingly consuming traces of other animals when eating out.

Britain’s two million Muslims, Jews and Hindus are forbidden from eating either pork or beef. Muslims would ordinarily eat halal chicken and Jews kosher chicken sold through approved caterers and butchers.

The Hindu Forum of Britain described news of the adulteration, which will be confirmed publicly today, as “shocking and potentially very distressing”. Its secretary general, Bharti Tailor, said: “Eating beef is expressly forbidden because cows are considered to be sacred as they are a representation of the bounty of the gods, even unknowingly. The fact that the protein powders injected into chickens served in restaurants and cafes contain even traces of beef or pork is horrific. And [the fact] that Hindus will have been eating beef contaminated chickens will be mentally agonising. Many will feel that they have broken their religious code of conduct.”

The food regulator acknowledged the serious consequences of its findings. “Use of these proteins does not make chicken products unsafe, but it is important that people are given accurate information about their food,” the FSA said.

The fraud has been taking place for at least the past two years, and still continues because of inaction by the authorities in three EU states, believed to be Germany, Netherlands and Spain.

The European Commission rebuffed British demands to ban beef and pork proteins from being added to chicken when first detected in the UK and Ireland in 2001 and 2003. Then, action was taken against a chicken company in the Netherlands and the authorities thought the problem had gone away.

When complaints began to surface again last year, the FSA launched a secret investigation to ascertain whether chicken – the most eaten meat in the UK – was being adulterated again. At first, scientists could not find any non-chicken protein because the meat had been “de-natured” (made unrecognisable). The Central Science Laboratory in York and York University developed special DNA market tests.

“It’s like Olympic drug tests; they stay one step ahead of the testers,” said a source close to the investigation.

Manufacturers in Germany and Spain are thought to be making the protein powders; Dutch firms inject them into chickens sold on to UK wholesalers supplying the catering trade.

Using a new DNA marker technique, the FSA tested five protein powders from three companies. All five were found to contain a non-poultry material identified as bovine collagen. Further tests found the presence of porcine material in two powders.

Tests picked up traces of beef in one of three chicken breasts.

In a report passed to The Independent, the FSA noted: “The study of a small number of injection powders used in chicken breast products has indicated the presence of undeclared, mammalian peptides, i.e., from a non-poultry source in the samples analysed. The analyses applied indicate the presence of bovine collagen in all the powders sampled and suggest the presence of porcine collagen in some of the powders.”

It added: “Certification accompanying the powders claim they are produced only from a poultry source, however, the analytical results suggest this claim could not be substantiated.”

Manufacturers can legally add water to chicken, for instance to improve succulence, but must declare water content of above 5 per cent. Fresh chicken meat sold by supermarkets or butchers cannot have any added ingredients. When the FSA alerted its continental counterparts, the factories involved were inspected but no legal action has been taken.

Some chicken products state on the label whether they contain hydrolised (chicken) proteins. The FSA advised consumers that they “may wish” to avoid such chicken. “If you are eating food from a restaurant or takeaway you should ask if the chicken served contains hydrolysed animal proteins,” the FSA will say today. “Restaurants and catering establishments will have this information available to them.”

Sue Davies, chief policy adviser at the consumer group Which?, said: “It’s bad enough that when you think you’re buying chicken what you’re paying for is an awful lot of water and other animal proteins but if you want to avoid beef or pork for religious reasons it’s going to be particularly shocking and annoying. There’s a need for better enforcement action, or people will carry on doing this.”

Religious views: Sacred products

Judaism

Jews are forbidden from eating pork as pigs are considered unclean animals. The Jewish dietary laws are the laws of kashrut (keeping kosher). Hence food in accord with Jewish law is termed kosher, food not in accord is treifah or treif.

Hinduism

Observant Hindus who eat meat almost always abstain from beef. The cow is sacred and beef has been forbidden in the Hindu religion and diet. Hindu society honours the cow and cow-slaughter is banned legally in almost Indian states. The largely pastoral Vedic people and subsequent generations relied heavily on it for dairy products and tilling the fields.

Islam

Muslims are prohibited from eating pork products. All meat must come from a herbivorous animal slaughtered and bled to death in the name of God by a Muslim, Jew or Christian, with the exception of game that one has hunted or fished for oneself. Food permissible for Muslims is known as halal food.

Protein problems: Contaminated chicken

2001

The Food Standards Agency finds chicken with as little as 54 per cent meat and undeclared protein. The FSA urges the Netherlands and Belgium to tackle exporters.

2003

The FSA and the Food Safety Agency of Ireland find beef and pork in Dutch chicken. The FSAI warns that the EU and the Dutch are failing to police labelling rules. The European Commission rejects a call to ban beef and pork proteins, saying the matter is “primarily an infringement of food labelling legislation”.

2004-2007

No new surveys on chicken are published. Many believe the problem has gone away.

2008

FSA investigates new allegations, but pork and beef cannot be detected by conventional DNA tests as it has been “de-natured” (rendered unidentifiable from its origins).

2009

Test results are obtained by The Independent.
