U.S. Muslim Group Offers ‘Best Wishes’ to Resigning Pope, Seeks Positive Relations with New Pontiff

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 2/11/13) — The nation’s largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization today offered “best wishes” to Pope Benedict XVI following his announced resignation and expressed a desire for continued positive relations between American Muslims and the Roman Catholic Church under his successor.

In a statement reacting to Pope Benedict’s decision to step down at the end of this month, Nihad Awad, national executive director of the Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) said:

“We offer the American Muslim community’s best wishes to Pope Benedict XVI as he leaves his position as head of the Roman Catholic Church.

“In recent years — and despite some passing controversies — relations between Muslims and Catholics have strengthened, particularly on issues related to social justice and family values.

“We look forward to continued and growing positive interfaith relations under the new pontiff as Muslims in the United States and worldwide join with people of all faiths and cultures who seek to make a better world.”

[CAIR NOTE: Later today, Nihad Awad will discuss the pope's resignation on "To the Point," a one-hour daily national program co-produced by KCRW and Public Radio International.]

Awad noted that in 2009, CAIR welcomed Pope Benedict’s expression of respect for Islam and Muslims as he began his first trip to the Middle East.

In 2008, representatives of CAIR met with Pope Benedict at an interfaith gathering in Washington, D.C.

In 2007, CAIR’s Awad was a signatory, along with 137 other Muslim leaders and scholars, to an open letter titled “A Common Word Between Us and You,” which was sent to Pope Benedict XVI, Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams and more than 20 other Christian leaders.

The open letter was designed to promote understanding between Muslims and Christians worldwide. It stated in part: “[L]et our differences not cause hatred and strife between us. Let us vie with each other only in righteousness and good works. Let us respect each other, be fair, just and kind to (one) another and live in sincere peace, harmony and mutual goodwill.”

CAIR is America’s largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization. Its mission is to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.

Valentine’s Day…and its position in Islam

Let’s roast a turkey on Christmas day; it’s not as if we celebrate Christmas anyway…Why not book her engagement day for Valentine’s Day instead… In fact I think I should pick up a quick gift for him since it’s nearly the 14th of Feb…

These are just a few of the very familiar words that seem to escape the mouths of so many Muslims today…Infact Did you know that ‘Valentine’s Day’ is actually remembered and celebrated by so many different people around the world today, that statistics indicate it is second only to Christmas in fame and popularity…giving preference over many other religious and non-religious celebrations. Why not, after all it is the festival of love!

However beneath all this fun and enjoyment we appear to be experiencing during such occasions of the year, is a very important aspect that seems to have been deeply buried away…the aspect of Islam and its teachings with regards to such occasions. For it was narrated from Abu Saeed Radhiallahu Anhu that Nabi Salallahu Alaihi Wasalam said, ‘you will certainly follow the ways of those before you, hand span by hand span, cubit by cubit, until even if they entered the hole of a lizard, you will do so too’- we asked ‘O messenger of Allah, do you mean the Jews and the Christians?’ He said, ‘who else’. (Bukhari/ Muslim)

In fact in another Hadith Nabi Salallahu Alaihi Wasalam said, ‘The (final) hour will not begin until my Ummah follows in the footsteps of those who came before it, hand span by hand span, cubit by cubit…’ (Bukhari)

But can there really be so much harm, in uttering the words ‘happy Valentine ’s Day…or hurling out a quick card and present on the day, even if we don’t believe in all its nonsense? Well we ask you to read the following and answer for yourselves what significance this day, as well as many others has in the court of Allah and his final Prophet Muhammad salallahu alaihi wasalam. So how exactly did it all originate?

 It was actually one of the festivals of the Pagan Romans; more than 17 centuries ago. The Romans believed that Romulus, the founder of Rome, was suckled one day by a she-wolf, which gave him strength and wisdom. The Romans would celebrate this event in mid-February each year, with a big festival. Amongst the ugly rituals of this day, they would sacrifice a dog and a goat, and smear the blood onto two youths which they would then wash off with milk. These two youths would then lead a great parade of people and walk the streets lashing young women with pieces of leather.

This festival and its reason of celebration have connected myths and legends which no sound mind can accept, let alone the mind of the Muslim who believes in Allah, and His Final Messenger Salallahu Alaihi Wasalam. Of course already the above myth goes totally against the Aqeedah and belief of Muslims, as it is only Allah who bestows us strength and wisdom- not the milk of a she-wolf.

 Another common belief of this day is that when the Romans became Christians, the Roman Emperor Claudius decided that no man from his army can get married as it will divert him from fighting. Now a saint of the time, called Saint Valentine, disagreed with this and secretly got many soldiers married. When the Emperor found out, he put him in jail and sentenced him to execution. In prison, the Saint fell in love with the jailer’s daughter. But remember, all this was a secret, because according to the Christian laws, priests and monks were forbidden to marry or fall in love. This saint was killed and had his head chopped off on the 14th of February, therefore the Pope designated the day of the death of Saint Valentine (14th Feb) as a festival of love; today known as Valentine’s Day.

It was a total innovation and reminds us of the Ayat in which Allah says, “They (the Jews and the Christians) took their Rabbis and monks to be their Lords besides Allah,” (At Taubah). Meaning they obeyed their saints and leaders in things which they made lawful or unlawful according to their own desires, without being ordered by Allah.

 One of their false beliefs connected with this festival was that the names of girls who had reached marriageable age would be written on small rolls of paper and placed in a dish on a table. Then the young men who wanted to get married would be called and each of them would pick a piece of paper. He would put himself at the service of the girl whose name he had drawn for a year; then they would get married or repeat the same process the next year.

Allah forgive such filth, how wrong were these actions, how wrong is the belief of this day and yet it is being remembered and celebrated by thousands of Muslims, yes Muslims themselves. So wrong it is that even the Christian clergy reacted against this tradition, and the Church wished to ban the whole idea, for it was corrupting the morals of the men and women.

Therefore, whether you and I believe in such stories, whether today these customs are still believed and sanctified or not, to simply affirm to it by even 1% will be totally erroneous and impermissible for you and I as believing servants of Allah.

Many may not go so far, but if need be will participate in a school or work celebration by wearing an item of red on this day. Others will send cards and gifts whilst the least of these actions is simply to say, ‘Happy Valentine’s Day.’ Never the less, whatever it may be, big or small, all these acts are totally condemned in Islam and must be stopped by you and I. In fact, Ibn Al Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) said, ‘with regards to congratulating others with the congratulations used by the Kufaar on such occasions, (like Happy Christmas, Happy Valentines,) is haram by scholarly consensus (ijma). Even if the one who says this is free of Kufr for it is like congratulating someone for prostrating to the cross. ‘

Therefore, whoever congratulates a person for sin, innovation or Kufr, exposes himself to the hatred and wrath of Allah. (Ahkaam Ahl-al-Dhimmah).

Whilst whoever celebrates it is celebrating an occasion of shirk and it is regarding the people of shirk that Allah has forbidden Paradise.

Besides dear listeners truly what does it mean to express ones love on one day of the year? What about the other 364 days of a year, where 4,000 wives lose their lives due to beating in America, 2 million women face beating in France, and 88% of love marriages end in failure.

Remember as Muslims there is a much better purpose in life then all of the above. We are taught to carry out the rights of our close and dear ones, every day, of every week of the year. Giving gifts can be done throughout the year why on this day that has no significance whatsoever in the eyes of Allah Subhanahu Watala.

In short our soul is the only thing that will follow us wherever we go. Let us strengthen it through our good deeds, and cultivate it via our attachment to Allah, his Prophet and his Deen. For in our desire to look the best, want the best, and be the best we are losing our identity as the best of Allah’s creation- ‘The believing nation’

We must always keep in mind that every good deed will make a difference in our scale of the heavens which we will one day come to see, whilst every sin has the potential to bring us down on that day. Let us leave this one act today solely for the pleasure of Allah so that in its happiness he brings us one more step closer to his pleasure and one leap further from his wrath and anger!

May Allah guide us, unite us, assist us and allow us to taste the true beauty and sweetness of Faith. Ameen

SLANDERING THE SOLDIERS OF ALLAH

 

Question: Sheikh Nuh Keller has made the following comments about the Taliban:

 

*   The Taliban’s movement was blessed until they slaughtered the Shi’ites

*   The Taliban acted improperly by destroying the Buddha idols

*   They beat women who wore squeaky shoes

*   The Taliban’s Da’wah was imported from the Saudi Wahhaabis

*   The Taliban lacked education and they only whipped people.

     He further attributes the success of the Afghanis against the Russians during the 1980’s to their distaste for the Saudi Wahhabis. In the struggle against the American invasion, the barakah has left their movement primarily because of their flirtation with the Saudi Wahhaabis. Please throw some light on this issue for the benefit of Muslims.

 

OUR COMMENTS

It is quite obvious that Sheikh Keller suffers from indoctrination by the western media. All of his baseless facts have been gleaned from the western anti-Islam media. Our brief responses to the aforementioned baseless allegations which are tantamount to slander against the Taliban, are as follows:

The Taliban slaughteredthe Shi’ites

This is utterly slanderous. Never did the Taliban ‘slaughter’ the Shiahs. The impression which this slander conveys is that the Taliban had embarked on a massacre of the Shiahs – men, women and children – that they committed genocide. What is Keller’s evidence for this slander? During the reign of the Taliban, the places of worship and the tombs of worship, and the religious functions of the Shiahs were all allowed.

Sayyaf and Hikmatyar, who are not Taliban, had committed massacres. They had destroyed entire suburbs of Shiahs. Both these persons are semi-modernists. Sayyaf is today in cahoots with Kerzai while Hikmatyar was given refuge by Shiah Iran.

The Buddha idols

It is indeed lamentable that Keller makes issue over the destruction of the idols of kufr and shirk. Destruction of idolatry was the primary objective of the mission of Rasulullah’sNubuwwat. On the occasion of the Conquest of Makkah, Rasulullah (sallallahu sallallahu alayhi wasallam) had delayed his entry into the Ka’bah until every idol was removed and destroyed, and until every vestige of idolatry was washed from the holy walls of the Ka’bah. The Qur’aan Majeed speaks glowingly of Nabi Ibraaheem’s decapitation and destruction of the idols which his people worshipped. No intelligent Muslim whose Aql (Brain) functions correctly can criticize the Taliban for having destroyed the idols of shirk and kufr. The Taliban acted 100% in conformity with the Shariah when they destroyed the idols.

Squeaky shoes

The source of this misinformation is again only the western media. It is simply another slanderous accusation. Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) prohibited women from wearing high-heeled shoes. He invoked the la’nat(curse) of Allah Ta’ala on such women. The Taliban order prohibiting women from wearing such haraam shoes is 100% in conformity with the command of Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam). Furthermore there was no beating as alleged by Keller and the western media. The issue of ‘squeaky’ shoes is false in entirety.

Wahhabi Da’wah

     This is another lie which Keller swallowed from the western media. Firstly, the Taliban are 100% followers of the Hanafi Math-hab. Their primitive and simple background make them the staunchest Hanafis on earth. When they assumed power, they closed down the ghairmuqallidtraining camp of Lashkr-e-Taibah which flourishes in Pakistan and which is involved in the Kashmir conflict.

Despite Usama Bin Ladin and his Arab following being given sanctuary in Afghanistan, they were never allowed to propagate their Salafi brand of Islam. In fact, Usama’s mentor, Shaikh Abdullah Izzam, had made it abundantly clear to the Arab Mujahideen in Afghanistan: “If you desire to engage in Jihad in Afghanistan, then stay like ‘Hanafis’.”

What is Keller’s evidence for his utterly baseless accusation that the da’wah of the Taliban is influenced by the Saudi Wahhabis? Which Aqeedah and which Furoo-i-Masaa-il of the Saudi Salafis do the Taliban propagate?

Whipping

     Firstly, whipping is a command of the Shariah. According to the Hanafi Math-hab,the punishment known as Ta’zeer(a maximum of 39 or 40 lashes) is a Shar’i ordinance. Keller must indeed be grossly ignorant of Fiqh to lodge objection against Ta’zeerwhich all Math-habs propagate. The Qur’aan and Ahaadith substantiate whipping for certain crimes and sins committed flagrantly in the public. If the Taliban had whipped people, it never was random whipping. The Shar’i Courts decided cases in strict accord with the Shariah. Ta’zeer and Hudoodpunishments are integral constituents of the Islamic Penal Code practised since the time of Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam). But Keller’s westernized mind is subservient to western concepts and norms, hence he laments this action of the Taliban.

Distaste for the Saudi Wahhabis during the 1980’s

     Keller’s ignorance is scandalous. During the 1980’s there was firstly no official Taliban Movement although the present Taliban were in the forefront in the fight to oust the Russian invaders and to destroy the Afghan communist regime hoisted in Afghanistan by Moscow. Secondly, there was absolutely no ‘distaste’ for the Saudis in the ranks of the Afghans during the 1980’s. During that period, the U.S.A., Saudi Arabia, all the Gulf States, Pakistan – in fact the entire western world were supporting the Afghan struggle against the Soviet Union to the hilt.

The U.S.A. poured in hundreds of billions of dollars of arms and ammunition, and billions of dollars in cash. Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States were supplying the Afghans with billions of dollars in cash over the Jihad decade. Pakistan was the staging board for the Afghan fight against the Russians. Pakistan supported and directed the war 100%. The entire Pakistan was sanctuary for the Afghan fighters. Pakistan provided shelter to millions of Afghan refuges.

The Afghan Mujahideen were given royal treatment in Saudi Arabia during the 1980’s and wherever they went. Every Jumuah, the Imaams in both Harams (Makkah and Madinah) from the mimbar made heartfelt and lengthy dua for the victory of the Afghans.

During the 1980’s the Afghans’ were wholly flirting and frolicking with the Saudi Wahhabis. Keller has hallucinated the distaste he has alleged, and imagined this fiction to be the basis of the ‘barakah’ which the Afghan Jihad enjoyed.

On the contrary, in the current era, the Saudis, the Gulf States, all the Muslim states (not the Muslim populations), Pakistan and the entire world have become the enemies of the Taliban simply because everyone is in obsequious obeisance to the U.S.A. super imperialist power. The Taliban are hemmed in on all sides. There is absolutely no aid in any form for the Taliban from any country. They stand alone, friendless and forlorn relying today solely on Allah Azza Wajal, and this is the fulcrum of their power, and their greatest success. This is the basis of their success against the global coalition of aggressors.

The barakahis, Alhamdulillah, with the Taliban today. While the Afghans had consorted with the Saudis during the 1980’s, there is no link with them today. Even ShiahIran who is supposed to be the enemy of the U.S.A., has thrown in its lot with America against the Taliban. The moment the U.S.A. with its evil coalition invaded Afghanistan, Iran cut off the Taliban’s oil supplies. It blocked the road of refuge for the Taliban. It does not allow the Taliban any sanctuary on its territory bordering Afghanistan. But, with the Nusratof Allah Azza WaJal, the Taliban are today riding on the crest of the wave with the illegitimate invading aggressors searching for a fast-exit, face-saving strategy.

A whole book can be written on the Taliban Movement and their role in Afghanistan. Here it will suffice to say that Keller while displaying puerility of the mind has committed a grave injustice against the Taliban Fighters of Allah Azza Wajal with his slanderous accusations. His sources of information are palpably the western media, hence he has blurted out so much unjust bunkum.

That the Taliban have weaknesses, is not denied. But, to fault them and to deride their wonderful achievements against the brutal kuffaar invaders on the basis of lies and slanders is despicable and deplorable, especially when a Muslim is guilty of such travesty and crime. Today, there is no group of Muslims who follows the Deen as the Taliban do. With all their weaknesses they are still the best Muslims on earth, hence we see with open eyes Allah’s aid sustaining them. Just imagine – a Rag Tag Army of a few thousand primitive fighters pitted against the armies and air forces of 50 countries including the super powers, and shunned by even all the Muslim countries, not only holding out against the invaders, but defeating them in the battlefields and making them run likes dogs with their tails between their legs. Even if the Taliban should be defeated, they and the Muslim World can hold their heads high with pride, for it will not be a defeat. It will be a tactical move to fight another day. May Allah Ta’ala cast His Special Shade of Rahmah on the Taliban, and may He fortify them with His Nusrat.

�c�o`therwise no one could have gone to bed without finishing their prayers. Then I have a son whose name is Mutaqadi [in Arabic, one who presses for payment]. His duty is to publicize the prayers, the devotions, the good deeds which are done in secret for Allah’s sake, because Allah promises to reward the good deed done secretly a hundred-fold.

 

When deeds are publicized and receive credits and praise from the creatures of Allah. Allah takes away 99 of the promised one hundred rewards. Then I have a son whose name is Kuhayl(kohl). His duty is to put kohl on the eyes of those in the presence of wise men or preachers. The ones whose eyes he has touched start falling asleep. They are thus prevented from hearing the words of Allah or receiving any benefit from them.

The devil talked about women. He said, whenever a woman leaves her seat a devil sits in her place. On the lap of every woman sits a Satan who makes her desirable to whoever looks at her. Then he orders the woman to open and show her arms, her legs, and her breasts, and with his claws the devil tears her veil of shame and decency.

Then the devil started to complain. He said O Muhammad, in spite of all this I have no strength to take away the faith of the faithful. I only take away their faith when they throw it away. If I were able, there would be no face of this world that could say la ilaha illallah, Muhammad rasulullah, “There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is his messenger”. I would not leave a single one to pray or fast. All I can do is to give the children of Adam imaginations, illusions and delusions, make the ugly appear beautiful, the wrong, right, and the bad, good. Neither do you have the power to give faith. You are only a proof of the truth, because I know that if you were given the power to give true faith you would not leave a single non-believer on the face of this world. The fortunate one who is a believer is fortunate in his mother’s womb. The rebellious sinner is a rebel in his mother’s womb. As you are the guide of the fortunate, I am only the cause of sin of the ones who are destined to sin.

Allah is he who renders one fortunate and another rebellious. Then he recited from Surah Hud, “If thy lord had pleased he would have made people a single nation, and they cease not to differ, except those upon whom thy lord has mercy, and for this did he create them”. The word of thy lord is fulfilled: I shall fill hell with jinn and men altogether (Surah Hud, 118-119). He recited from Surah Ahzab, ayat 38: “The command of Allah is a decree that is made absolute”.

Then the mercy upon the universe told the devil, O father of all bitterness, I wonder if it is at all possible for you to repent and return to your lord. I promise I would intercede for you. The accursed one answered, O messenger of Allah, it is Allah’s justice. The ink on the pen, which wrote the judgment, is dry. What will happen, will happen until doomsday. The one who made you the master of all the prophets, the speaker for the inhabitants of paradise, the one who chose you to be the beloved amongst all his creation, chose me to be the master of sinners and the speaker for the inhabitants of hell. He is Allah, devoid of all lack. O Muhammad, this is which I have told you is my last word to you, and I have told nothing but the truth.

All praise is due to Allah the lord of all the worlds which existed before and which will exist after, visible and invisible. Allah’s blessing, upon our beloved master, the beloved Allah, mercy upon the universe, and upon his household and progeny and companions and friends who are loved by him, and upon the ones who love him.

Glad Tidings for the Blind

Hadrat Anas bin Maa (R.A.) reports that he heard Rasulullah(Sallallaahu alaiyhi wassallam) saying that Allah Ta’ala said, ‘If I deprive My slave of his two beloved possessions (i.e. his eyes) and he bears it patiently, I will let him enter Jannah in compensation for them. (Sahih Bukhaari)

 

Headaches – a Characteristic of the People of Imaan

Our beloved Rasulullah(Sallallaahu alaiyhi wassallam) suffered very much from severe headaches and migraines. Sometimes, for days on end he would suffer extreme pain and would even deliver the khutbah (sermon) with his head covered in oily bandages.

Once, describing the People of the Fire (Jahannam), Rasulullah(Sallallaahu alaiyhi wassallam) said, ‘They are those who do not suffer from pain in their heads.’ Just then a bedouin entered and he asked him, ‘O Bedouin! Did you ever experience this type of headache?’ He replied, ‘What is a headache?’ Rasulullah(Sallallaahu alaiyhi wassallam) said, ‘It is the throbbing of veins in the head of a person.’ The man replied, ‘I have never experienced this.’ When the bedouin turned to go away, Rasulullah (Sallallaahu alaiyhi wassallam) said, ‘Whoever wishes to look at a person from the People of the Fire should look at this Man.’ (Ahmad, Nasa-ee)

 

Ka’b Ahbaar(R.A.) says, ‘I have found (the following) in the Tauraah: Had it not been for the fear that My believing servants would become aggrieved, I would have sealed the head of a kaafir (disbeliever) with a bandage of steel so that he would never get a headache. “

 

Do not curse sickness

Once Rasulullah (Sallallaahu alaiyhi wassallam) went to the home of Umm Saa-ib (Radiyallaaha anha) and asked her, ‘What is the matter? Why are you shivering?’ She replied, ‘I have a fever. May Allah not bless it! ‘ Rasulullah(Sallallaahu alaiyhi wassallam) said, ‘Do not curse fever since it wipes out the sins of the Children of Aadam just as a furnace removes dirt from iron.’ (Sahih Muslim)

 

Hadrat Abu Moosa(R.A.) reports that Rasulullah (Sallallaahu alaiyhi wassallam) said, ‘When a person becomes sick or goes on a journey, then those (good) deeds are written down in his favour which he used to perform when he was at home and in good health.’ (Sahih Bukhari)

1. Why only 3 salaat times are mentioned in Tehran Times?
2. Are there any Churches in Tehran and their number?
3. Are there any Temples in Tehran and their number?
4. Are there any Sikh Temples in Tehran and their number?
5. Are there any Fire-Worshippers Temples in Tehran and their number?
6. Are there any Sunni Masjids in Tehran and their number?
Tehran is the Capital of Iran.
7. The Muslims were performing Jumuah Salaat in Tehran at the Pakistani Embassy-does this still go on? Or has it
being stopped? And why?
8. Are there any Hifz Madressahs in Iran? Where? How many? Number of Hafiz that qualified during the last 3 years?
9. Are the Shias performing Taraweeh Salaat in Iran? Where? How many Rakaats? Name some Masjids?
10. In literature from Iran after the name of Hadhrat Fathima – (AS) is written – Is this not only used after the Names of
the Prophets?

Bill Gates Funding Drone Technology to Deliver Vaccines

I think everyone knows how I feel about vaccines. My calm, (somewhat) rational opinion is this: They are, for the most part, not necessary, not working, and not safe. The lack of science—not to mention common sense—behind the dozens of vaccines injected into our children is beyond appalling.

There are two things, however, that the vaccine program definitely isn’t lacking. One is money. The other is imagination.

Billions of dollars are being spent on developing new vaccines. Improving vaccination rates worldwide. Ensuring that vaccines are available to everyone on the planet. All through phenomenally creative methods.

We have—or soon will have—needle-free vaccines. Vaccines with micro needles. Sublingual vaccines. Vaccine patches. Inhalable powder vaccines. The old Star Trek type of vaccines. Even mail-order vaccines. Vaccines that are easier and faster to produce.

No more accidental needle sticks and cross-contamination of deadly diseases. No more refrigeration or syringes. No more vaccine phobia. No more pain. No more tears.

BILL GATES AND “BOLD IDEAS”

When it comes to money and imagination, Bill Gates seems to have an endless supply of both. That man is a tough act to follow. In 2010 he announced a $10 billion pledge over the next decade, saying, “We must make this the decade of vaccines.” [1]

One of his latest financial donations is the subject of this article, which is perhaps the most difficult I’ve written for Vactruth. What I read as I was doing my research left me with a lot of unanswered questions and disturbing thoughts.

Thanks to a sizable grant from the Gates Foundation (with oversight from WHO and UNICEF), $100,000 is being provided to 17 different initiatives, for a total of $1.7 million. [2] The purpose is—and I quote Michel Zaffran, Director of project Optimize and Senior Adviser for WHO’s Department of Immunization, Vaccines, and Biologicals—“to ensure new vaccines reach the millions of people in the poorest countries. The time for ‘business as usual’ has passed—it’s time for bold ideas.” [3]

One “bold idea” is unmanned aerial vehicles to quickly and inexpensively deliver vaccines to hard-to-reach areas. The vehicles will be deployed remotely by healthcare workers. The winner of this project is the Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology Division, with five students under the direction of Professor George Barbastathis. [4] Projects that are successful may be eligible for another grant of $1 million. [5]

A LITTLE BACKGROUND ON TECHNOLOGY

If you’re wondering how aerial vaccines are possible, all you have to do is consider the technology that is already in place. Let’s look at three examples.

Military drones

Since the Vietnam War, the U.S. has been using modern drones that are operated by a remote control and monitored through a live-streaming screen thousands of miles away from the target area. The vehicles hover silently, undetectable by radar. For more information on the use of drones and their controversy, see Michael Hastings’ article in Rolling Stone. [6]

Rabies bait

The oral rabies vaccine is nothing new. In this country, 12+ million doses of Raboral V-RG are dropped from unmanned aircraft every year. Worldwide, more than 100 million doses since the late 1980s. [7] The cost? In the U.S. and Canada, approximately $130 million in a decade. [8]

The ketchup-sized packets, usually dipped in fish oil and coated with fish meal, have been dropped in numerous states. The Texas Department of State Health Services claims to have virtually annihilated rabies in coyotes and foxes, which provides protection for other wildlife, livestock, and domestic animals. Texas has not had a case of human rabies since they began aerial drops in 1995. [9]

If you poke around the Internet a little, you’ll find some “safety” instructions. Basically, the claim is that the bait isn’t harmful for humans or pets (although wildlife is less likely to eat a packet that’s been touched by humans). A few precautions for pet owners: Keep pets inside or tied in the backyard for a week after the bait is dropped. If a domestic animal like a cat or dog eats the bait, avoid coming in contact with the saliva for 24 hours. [10] If you handle the bait, use paper towels or wear gloves. If the vaccine liquid gets on your skin, wash with soap and water, and call the local health department (or the number on the packet). [11]

Sounds relatively safe, right? I thought so, too—until I read the Merial Material “Safety” Data Sheet. It states that the RABORAL V-RG is “potentially hazardous to health if any of the following should occur: ingestion, parenteral inoculation, droplet or aerosol exposure of mucous membranes or if broken skin is exposed to infectious fluids or tissues. All people should avoid contact, but young children, pregnant women, individuals with immune deficiencies or those on steroids should avoid contact with this vaccine.” It also says: “Do not allow undiluted product or large quantities of it to reach ground water, water course or sewage system.” [12]

After further research, I found some adverse side effects. Side effects backed up by lab tests, including “vaccinia virus DNA and rabies virus G protein DNA in papule material and serologic evidence of rabies virus neutralizing antibodies” as well as Simian Green Monkey virus, Epstein-Barr virus capside, and Cytomeglia virus. [13]

South Wales microbiologist Doug Dorst says: “For every fear that biotech propaganda proliferates about deadly diseases and how vaccines prevent them, it is one more lie to incrementally convince the masses that vaccines are effective. … There is a real potential risk to exposure from aerial exposure to aerial DNA virus vaccines. The risk certainly exceeds any benefits …” [14]

If you’ve read my story, you know that the RabAvert rabies vaccine given to my grandson in 2006 wasn’t safe. (Actually, several batches used in that same year were recalled because of a partially inactivated virus.) Many people think “it’s just a rabies vaccine.” My daughter and I know from personal experience that there’s no such thing.

Questions

• Is an oral rabies vaccine that’s safe for coyotes and raccoons, for example, safe for other animals, such as birds? Does “one size fit all?”
• How long does the vaccine last?
• What about the packets that aren’t consumed? Where do they end up? In our water? In our food? Is that safe?
• If the packet ruptures, can it harm plant life and crops?
• Can the vaccine create resistance to the rabies virus?
• What if a hunter kills an animal, such as a squirrel, who has ingested the bait, and eats it?

West Nile Virus spray

Aerial spraying of pesticides has been going on for decades, especially for the West Nile Virus (WNV). This year the virus has been more prevalent, with half the cases in Texas. WNV can be deadly, but most people who contract it never have any symptoms. Between 1999 and 2008, out of almost 30,000 cases, there were approximately 1,100 deaths. [15]

The financial cost? Spraying one county in Texas cost $1 million. [16] Throw in the cost of testing the safety of a pesticide for years at a price of up to $200 million … well, the financial fallout is unfathomable. [17]

The pesticide kills between 60 and 90 percent of mosquitoes in sprayed areas (depending on which article you’re reading). [18] But there are more than a few people who don’t believe these numbers. A former EPA employee and Director of New England Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility Kyla Bennett attempted to acquire the data proving the 60 percent effectiveness rate for mosquitoes carrying eastern equine encephalitis in Massachusetts. She did not get the information she asked for.

The Huffington Post, after being told by the state health department that no one was available to speak, also filed a formal public records request for the data. I don’t know for sure, but I doubt they got the “proof” either. [19]

“Dirt Doctor” radio show host Howard Garrett says the pesticide doesn’t work. His suggestion? Organic pesticides on the ground to kill mosquito eggs and larvae. [20]

All the pesticides, even though they come in different combinations, contain known toxins that don’t just kill mosquitoes. They cause serious damage to fish and other aquatic animals and pets. They’ve been linked to breast and liver cancer and endocrine disruption. They’ve been blamed for the “die off” of bees and potentially disrupting “our natural ecosystem.” [21]

One chemical, according to a study that appeared in the journal Pediatrics, can disrupt brain development in the womb. Another, a weapon used during WWII and described by its manufacturer as “a possible carcinogen,” can damage a child’s nervous system. [22]

“The cure is worse than the disease,” says Organic Sacramento, a nonprofit organization. “You’re spraying poison over thousands of people for the potential of maybe helping a handful of people.” [23]

I can’t help but think of one of the recently proposed causes of autism. Household dust while the baby is in the womb—a cause that is the subject of an NIH-funded research study. I don’t understand how that can possibly be a concern to a government that maintains it’s perfectly safe to inhale aerial pesticides that are sprayed into the environment.

Questions

• Is a 60 percent effectiveness rate—if that’s indeed true—“effective?” That leaves almost half of the mosquitoes alive and potentially spreading the virus.
• What if the spray kills mosquito predators? Wouldn’t we end up with more mosquitoes?
• What does the spray do to our crops?
• Can mosquitoes and other exposed creatures develop resistance to the virus?
• Could the WNV spraying be responsible for pertussis outbreaks? [24] After all, cases have doubled in the last year—a year in which a lot of spraying has been going on. [25]
• If it’s so safe, why, when the Dallas area was going to be sprayed in August, were the pilots instructed to avoid the home of former President Bush? [26]

AERIAL VACCINES ARE ON THE WAY—BUT WHY?

You could read about drones, the aerial delivery of rabies bait, and pesticide spraying and learn something new with every article. I’ve explored the current technology because the information is relevant to the aerial spraying of vaccines.

I’m certainly not minimizing rabies, but why spend all that money and go to so much trouble for a disease that kills one or two humans a year? It just doesn’t make sense. Not coming from a government that claims far more deaths from childhood diseases, like measles and whooping cough—not to mention the flu.

Would they really do this for rabies for almost 20 years and not have already come up with a similar scheme for these other diseases? I can’t believe that their concern is for wildlife, livestock, and domestic animals. There has to be another reason, another explanation. Maybe …

The rabies virus has been eliminated. Safely. Quickly. Or so we’re told. Assuming that our ketchup packets (or some other food or our water) don’t already contain vaccines, the only obvious next step is using the drones to spray all kinds of vaccines. The MMR, DTaP, flu … No one will even know. There will be no informed consent. No declining vaccine rates—they would literally explode overnight. I’m extrapolating here, but when you think about it, it’s really not that much of a stretch.

What I can’t figure out—what is keeping me awake at night—is why? What’s in it for “them?” Where’s the money? The vaccine industry as we know it is a $2 billion a year business. Will aerial spraying make it even more lucrative? The grant winners got a small piece of the pie. What about the people who remote-control the drones? The people who actually manufacture them? Or those who outfit the drones with the vaccine spray? Is this really about money?

Where’s the quality control? I realize those are words we don’t usually connect with vaccines, but who will be in charge of this program? We all remember past problems—failed freezers, reused syringes, accidental needle sticks, and, of course, the time Baxter Pharmaceuticals shipped live avian flu virus (mixed with vaccine material) to medical distributors in 18 countries. [27] So many opportunities for dangerous, if not fatal, mistakes.

Could this be about power? Control? It’s so easy to scare people. Fear is powerful and controlling. You know, we have this deadly pertussis outbreak. Everybody better get a pertussis vaccine. That is, if they don’t decide to spray them on us. Or maybe they’ll encourage both methods of delivery.

If you do as much research as I’ve done, you’ll end up with your head spinning. Some of my thoughts are unthinkable. Not impossible. Just unthinkable. I used to think that people who suggested vaccines as a means to population control were crazy. Now I’m not so sure.

Take Bill Gates, for instance. At the 2010 TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) conference, he stated: “The world today has 6.8 billion people. That’s headed up to about 9 billion. Now if we do a really great job on new vaccines, health care, reproductive health services, we could lower that by perhaps 10 or 15 percent.” [28]

AND A FEW MORE “WHAT IF’S?”

What if one exposure to a toxic chemical isn’t too bad, but after a few years, it might be deadly?

What if combining different pesticides together could add up to a “toxic tipping point?”

What if some effects of vaccine spraying don’t show up immediately but, like the cancers caused by the 9/11 World Trade Center toxins, surface years after exposure?

How many times in the past have we been told that something is safe, but years later we learn that it wasn’t true?

Racism in Islam

Racism and our daughter!

Asslamo Allaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,We (Muslims) pride ourselves on the noble and beloved teachings of our Nabi (Sallaho Alaihe Wassallam) and rightly so. No other prophet was so blessed and so dear to Allah (SWT) let alone another ordinary man.

The revelations on our dear and beloved Nabi (Sallaho Alaihe Wassallam) revolutionised the globe, purged the hearts of those who accepted him and turned them (Sahaba) into the greatest characters mankind has ever witnessed. We (Ahlus-Sunnah Wal-Jamaah) consider the noble Sahaba the best of mankind after the prophets and by Allah (SWT) the Sahaba of Nabi (Sallaho Alaihe Wassallam) deserve our respect. Let me repeat, we don’t love the Sahaba because we are required to, rather we genuinely love, adore and admire Sayyidina Abu Bakr (RA), Sayyidina Umar (RA), Sayyidina Usman (RA), Sayyidina Ali (RA) and every single one of them who had the greatest fortunate of spending even a moment with the beloved of Allah (Sallaho Alaihe Wassallam).

How we would love to sacrifice everything in our possession just to cast a gaze at the noble face of beloved of Allah (Sallaho Alaihe Wassallam)? And Sayyidina Abu Bakr (RA) was his friend, confidant, companion and father-in-law! Close your eyes and just imagine the blessed Majlis of the Sahaba (RA) seated around the beloved of Allah (Sallaho Alaihe Wassallam) in the Masjidun-Nabawi ready to sacrifice their lives for him.

Subhanullah!

My point so far is that not only the content of Islam was SUPERB but its (earliest) followers were also EXEMPLARY.

Today, all praise be to Allah (SWT) that we have the content (Shariah of Islam) intact and the same content which lifted the Sahaba (RA) to the pinnacle of humanity can also raise us should we chose to act upon it.
One of the golden teachings of our Nabi (Sallaho Alaihe Wassallam) is about eradication of racism i.e. no white man is superior to a black man, no black man is superior to a white man, no Arab is superior to a Non-Arab and no Non-Arab is superior to an Arab!

We (Muslims) pride ourselves that Islam eradicated racism and placed Sayyidina Bilal (RA) an emancipated black African slave on equal footing with those of Arab lineage like Sayyidina Umar (RA) or white skinned European descendants like Sayyidina Suhaub Ar-Rumi (RA), we say to new Muslims that brother (or sister) you are now part of our family and Islam eradicated racism 1400 years ago, but do we act upon it?

Our community is rife with racism when it comes to giving our daughters in marriage. Many amongst Pakistanees won’t marry outside of their cast and ethnicity and many amongst the Gujratees won’t marry outside of their cast and ethnicity even those who are apparently practising upon the Sunnah. In fact, those who are practising quote the conditions within the Hanafi Fiqh about “Kufu (compatibility)” that since my daughter is Gujrati or Pakistani the boy although he is religious (and practising) isn’t a good match because they are not compatible.

The fact of the matter is that our Pakistani daughter growing up in London is more compatible with the African Revert Muslim then her cousin back home but we would have none of it and our Gujrati daughter growing up in Leicester is more compatible with the practicing Pakistani then her own cousin back in Surat whom she neither likes nor has any inclination to marry.

Our Nabi (Sallaho Alaihe Wassallam) gave his cousin , the noble and prestigious Zainab Ibnt Jahsh (RA) to Zayd Ibn Haritha (RA) the emancipated slave to set an example for us and we must realise that our actions have consequences:

“If one whose religion and character pleases you proposes to you, you should marry him. If you do not do so, there will be tribulations in the land and great evil.” [Tirmidhi]

Look at our social problems with Sisters getting older and not finding suitable match and many among those who are married not being happy, could it be because we preferred a cousin or someone from our own ethnicity over a suitable practising brother? Could it be that the tribulations and the great evil about which Nabi (Sallaho Alaihe Wassallam)warned us about is upon us?

May Allah (SWT) protect all of us and grant suitable matches for all our Muslim daughters (Ameen) and let us not wreck their lives due to our false pride.

Its product range includes garden furniture, outdoor storage solutions and sheds, shelving systems and utility cabinets, tool boxes and storage products for the DIY market, household products, baby and toddler products.

Its brands, subsidiaries, and sister companies (all owned by the Sagol family) include ‘OutStanding Solutions’ (Keter garden storage), Lipski (plumbing accessories), Allibert (bathroom accessories), Curver (plastic home & food storage), Jardin (garden furniture), and Contico Europe (plastic storage boxes). Strauss

The Straus Group is Israels second largest food company with a turnover $1.8 billion in 2010 and 13,500 employees operating twenty-five production sites in twenty-one countries around the world. Its brands in the USA include Sabra (hummus dips) and Max Brenner (chocolate cafes). Strauss Coffee is currently the fifth-largest coffee company in the world, dominating the central and eastern European markets (Doncafe) as well as Brazil.

 

The Strauss Group on its website, on the page on “Corporate Responsibility – Community Involvement” reveal their deep rooted support for the Israeli army, and in particular the infamous Golani platoon, known for its brutality, which the Strauss group has “adopted” for over 30 years.

Danone

In July 1998 Danone opened its R&D facility in Israel – the Danone Insitute, and later the same year in October 1998 Mr. Franck Riboud, on behalf of Danone received the Jubilee Award by the Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu.[Jubilee Award]

 

Danone owns a 20% share of Israel’s second largest food company, the Strauss Group. Danaone Israel is the hub supplying Danone products to the whole Middle-East including Turkey, Greece, Egypt and Jordan.

Tivall

Israeli food company Tivall is one of the world’s leading suppliers of meat-substitute products. It has a turnover of $74 million and has 451 employees[59] It has a manufacturing base at Kibbutz Lochamei Hagetaot in Northern Israel, and a new facility in the Czech Republic.

 

Tivall brand products can mainly be found in health food stores – their website mentions Holland & Barrett, Fresh & Wild, and Planet Organic. But most of their sales are through the supermarkets who rebrand Tivall products as part of their own frozen “Meat-free” range. This includes Tesco, Asda, Morrisons and Sainsbury’s. Morrisons also stocks Tivall brand Frankfurter. Waitrose online site Ocado sells a full range of Tivall products.

Osem

Osem is Israels 4th largest food & beverages company (by turnover) after Tnuva, Strauss and Coca-Cola. It has a turnover of $712 million and nearly 5000 employees with 14 factories in Israel.

 

Its brands include Beit Hashitah (pickles), Of Tov (frozen meat products), Habait (ready made cakes) and Sabra Salads (ready-made salads and spreads). Osem also owns 58% of meat-substitute manufacturer Tivall Foods.

According to Osem’s website its products are sold in Marks & Spencer, Tesco, Sainsbury and Morrison, with each store marketing them under their own label. Waitrose online site Ocado sells a range of Osem products from soups, crackers and croutons. Tesco online sells a range of Osem cakes.

In April 2009, Osem UK announced its acquisition of Yarden GB. Yarden GB’s product range includes chilled meats and Yarden wines from the Golan Heights Winery, located in Katzrin on the occupied Syrian Golan Heights. Golan Heights Winery exports 38% of all Israeli wines, its wine brands also include Gamla and Golan. According to Yarden GB’s website its products are available in Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury, Morrisons, Budgens, Somerfield, Waitrose and Harrods. Waitrose online site Ocado sells a range of Yarden meat and houmous products.

Nestlé

Nestlé is the world’s largest food company, it owns 53.8% share of leading Israeli food manufacturer Osem, an investment worth over $850 million.

 

In 1998, Mr. Peter Brabeck-Letmathe on behalf of Nestle, received the Jubilee Award by the Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu [Jubilee Award]. Following the award in June 2002 Nestle opened its Research & Development Centre in Israel, in Sderot. And since then it has steadily increased its investment in Israel, its initial 10% stake in Osem has now grown to a controlling 53.8%. Nestle also owns Nespresso Israel Ltd in Tel Aviv which supplies coffee brewing equipment. In 2010 Nestle acquired a 51% stake in Israeli babyfood company Materna Laboratories for $72 million.

Nestle has 9 factories in Israel, which after China(18) and Russia(11) is the highest number in any country in Asia – disproportionately high when one considers its size and population. And in May 2011, Nestle announced plans to build another factory in Israel, an ice cream plant worth $40 million.

Nestlé also owns 30% stake in L’Oréal, another company on the boycott list.

From 1966 Coca-Cola has been a staunch supporter of Israel. In 1997 the Government of Israel Economic Mission honored Coca-Cola at the Israel Trade Award Dinner for its continued support of Israel for the last 30 years and for refusing to abide by the Arab League boycott of Israel.

Every year Coca Cola bankrolls the American-Israel Chamber of Commerce Awards which honors companies that have contributed most to the Israeli economy. Under Sharon, Ben-Eliezer served as Defence Minister presiding over the massacre at Jenin.

For the past two decades, nearly every year, Coca-Cola has sponsored the JCC Maccabi Games whose stated aim is to cultivate Jewish youth in an informal setting to “encourage their identification with the state of Israel”. As part of this, Coca Cola has sponsored young children to visit Israeli military bases and spend time with war criminals in order to engender empathy, in their own words “visit an air force base.. talk with the pilots that are the elite Israel Defense Force units..meet fighters of the army.”.

Coca-Cola Israel, Israel’s third largest food & beverages company, owns dairy farms in the illegal Israeli settlements of Shadmot Mechola in the Jordan Valley and a plant in the industrial zone of Katzerin in the occupied Golan Heights.

Eden Springs

Eden Springs is an Israeli water cooler company that in Israel steals water from the Salukia spring in the the illegally occupied Syrian Golan Heights. This is in violation of UN resolution 242 and Article 55 of the Hague Regulations which specify that you cannot acquire territory by war and that you cannot plunder the natural resources of occupied territory. To clarify, the water in Eden Springs Coolers found in the UK is sourced locally, but the profits go back to Israel to finance its illegal activities.

 

 

Sodastream

SodaStream is an Israeli company manufacturing and distributing home carbonating devices and flavorings for soft drinks. The company’s main plant is located in the industrial zone of Mishor Edomim which is an illegal Israeli settlement in the West Bank. Kav LaOved, the NGO committed to protecting the rights of disadvantaged workers in Israeli companies, has reported that SodaStream factory workers, in particular Palestinians, are paid less than half the minimum wage and has described the working conditions in the factory as “one of the worst”, with workers being fired if they complain of the conditions.

 

SodaStream brands include: SodaStream, Soda-Club, AlcoJet, Sprudelino, Aquabar, Gazoz, Aquafizz, Aquabubbler, Penguin, Sodamaker, Fountain Jet and Edition1. Its products are available in Argos, Asda, Comets, Currys, Harvey Nichols, Homebase, John Lewis, Robert Dyas, Selfridges and House of Fraser.

Starbucks

Howard Schultz, the founder, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Starbucks who also owns 31.6 million shares of Starbucks stock (worth around $1.4 billion in Nov 2011) is an active zionist.

 

In 1998 he was honoured by the Jerusalem Fund of Aish HaTorah with “The Israel 50th Anniversary Friend of Zion Tribute Award” for his services to the zionist state in “playing a key role in promoting close alliance between the United States and Israel”. The ultra-right wing Jerusalem Fund of Aish HaTorah funds Israeli arms fairs chaired by the butcher of Jenin, General Shaul Mofaz, and the zionist media pressure group honestreporting.com, they were also implicated in the production and distribution of the infamous islamophobic film ‘Obesession’. Starbucks proudly displayed the award on the company’s website under the section of ‘awarda and accolades’ the Starbucks company has won, however, once the boycott started to bite the award mysteriously disappeared from its website.

Howard Shultz work as a propagandist for Israel has been praised by the Israeli Foreign Ministry as being key to Israel’s long-term PR success. On April 4th 2002, whilst the Israeli army was slaughtering Palestinians in Jenin Howard Shultz made a provocative speech blaming the Palestinians, suggesting the intifada was a manifestation of anti- Semitism, and asked people to unite behind Israel. Starbucks also sponsors fund raisers for Israel.

At a time when other businesses were desperately pulling out of Israel, Starbucks decided to help Israel’s floundering economy and open Starbucks in Israel. The venture failed but Shultz has vowed Starbucks will “return to Israel in due course”.

Starbucks has opened outlets in US bases in Afghanistan and Iraq, and at the illegal torture centre in Guantanamo Bay. Customer Relations say “Starbucks has the deepest respect and admiration for U.S. military.. who risk their lives to protect Americans and our values of freedom and democracy”. Petty Officer Barry Tate who is serving in Guantanamo Bay agrees that Starbucks is helping “lift the morale” of the guards and interrogator’s at Guantanamo Bay.

McDonald’s

 

McDonald’s Corporation is a major corporate partner of the Jewish United Fund and Jewish Federation. According to the Jewish United Fund, through its Israel Commission it “works to maintain American military, economic and diplomatic support for Israel; monitors and, when necessary, responds to media coverage of Israel”. The Jewish United Fund also runs “Fun-filled Summer Family Missions to Israel” where families get to “visit an army base and meet with Israeli soldiers” and “visit our sister city, Kiryat Gat and see the important work we are doing there”. Kiryat Gat is built on stolen Palestinian land – the lands of the villages of Iraq Al Manshiya and Al-Faluja whose residents were ethnically cleansed in 1949 in contravention of International Law. Through its “Partnership to Israel” programme, the Jewish United Fund provides $1.3 million annually to help further settlement and development of Kiryat Gat. The Jewish Federation, through its Israel Action Network is tasked to fight “efforts to boycott Israeli products” and “campaigns, such as equating Israel with apartheid South Africa”.

Another way McDonald’s supports the Jewish United Fund is by running a partnership scheme whereby they will match any donation an employee make to the Jewish United Fund with its own equal size donation.

McDonald’s first restaurant in the Middle East was in Israel, opened in 1993, since then it has 160 restaurants in Israel (1996) with a 60% market share, employing around 4000 Israelis. Since April 2009 McDonald’s has also opened 15 branches of McCafe chain in Israel, with plans to open 10 new branches every year.

McDonalds discriminates against its Arab workers, in 2004 it sacked an Arab worker in Israel because she was caught speaking arabic to another Arab employee. Arabic, along with Hebrew, is the official language of Israel spoken by 20% of the population.

According to the American Jewish Committee (AJC), whose Executive Director “regularly meets with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu”, McDonald’s in July 2001 immediately pulled an advertising campaign in Egypt when the ADC contacted them to complaint that the singer featured in the advert had in the past performed a song critical of Israel. Within 24 hours of the complaint, the advert was cancelled and according to the Egyptian franchise of McDonald’s “all copies of the tapes were whisked ‘back to the main offices’”!

 

Israeli Fresh Produce

In 2010 exports of Israeli fresh agricultural produce was worth $1.41 billion and most of it, some 87% was exported to Europe (UN Commodity Trade Statistics). Fruit, vegetables and herbs grown in Israel and on its settlements in the West Bank can be seen on sale at all the major supermarkets and greengrocers. Always check the label – avoid Israel and West Bank.

 

Until recently the main player was Israeli state owned company Carmel Agrexco, responsible for about 60-70% of all Israel’s agricultural exports. But in September 2011 Agrexco went bankrupt. This was due in part to fact that Agrexco has been the target of a sustained international boycott campaign. It has been recently reported that the Israeli Bickel Export Group has acquired Agrexco with plans to revive it in 2012 (target sales 50 million euros).

With the privately owned Israeli company Mehadrin Tnuport Export (MTEX) set to take Agrexco’s place as Israel’s biggest agricultural exporter the focus of the international boycott campaign is now firmly on MTEX with actions already having taken place (Nov 2011) outside its UK headquarters in Borehamwood and its French headquarters in Chateaurenard.

MTEX is Israel’s largest grower and exporter of citrus fruit responsible for 65% of overseas sales of Israel’s most recognisable brand on the supermarket shelves – JAFFA. They supply most of the supermarkets including Tesco and Sainsburys. MTEX ownes 50% of Miriam Shoham Ltd whose mangoes and pomegranates are available in Tescos and Asda.

Hadiklaim, the Israeli Date Growers Cooperative, which includes illegal settler plantations in the Jordan Valley, sells 65% of all Israeli dates. Its dates have brand names King Solomon, Jordan River, Tamara, Karsten Farms / Kalahari and Bomaja. Agrexco date brands include Jordan Plains and Jordan Valley.

Most supermarkets sell fresh herbs sourced from the illegal Israeli settlements on the West Bank. These include basil, sage, chives, rosemary, parsely, sorrel, marjoram, mint, thyme and tarragon. They are labelled ‘West Bank’ or ‘Israel’. ‘West Bank’ never refers to Palestinian goods as they don’t make it past the military checkpoints. Often settlements goods are labelled ‘Produce of Israel’ to avoid payment of tariffs when entering the EU – according to the EU-Israel Association Agreement goods produced outside the recognised borders of Israel (ie on the Israeli settlements on the Palestinian Occupied Territories) are not exhempt from import duties. A July 2008 Channel 4 news report revealed herbs grown on the illegal No’omi settlement on the West Bank, destined for the UK, were being mislabelled ‘produce of Israel’ in breach of the EU-Israel Association Agreement.

Other Israeli fresh produce brands to avoid include Edom (peppers, tomatoes and mangoes), Carmy (sweet potatoes), AdaFresh (herbs), Arava (peppers, Tomatoes, herbs) and Tali (table grapes).

Our strategy is to have a focused campaign where individual Israeli companies are targeted wherever possible rather than wide boycotts of whole stores. This means that whilst there are more brands on the list, they are actually easier to boycott. So for example whilst B&Q and Homebase are major sellers of Israeli plastic giant Keter’s products we are calling for a focused boycott of each Keter related brand – OutStanding, Lipski, Jardin, Allibert, Curver and Contico, rather than a blanket boycott of these stores.

 

 

Why are some of the brands in the previous Boycott Israel Campaign missing from this campaign?

Over time many companies have reconsidered their support for Israel and some have divested from Israel due to many reasons including the accumulated pressure of the boycott. These changes are reflected in the new card.

 

 

Disney

Disney, working with the Israeli embassy, was given 1.8 million dollars by Israel to promote Jerusalem as the capital of Israel at a special exhibition at its Epcot centre in Florida, strategically positioned so that every visitor to the centre would have to walk through the exhibition in order to reach the exit. Jerusalem is an illegally occupied Palestinian city and under international law can NEVER be the capital of Israel. The exhibition has since been removed so Disney is no longer on the boycott list.

 

 

Sara Lee

Sara Lee has divested its large stake in the Israeli textile giant Delta Galil so it along with its two dozen plus brands have all been removed from the boycott list.

 

 

Nokia

Nokia Ventures Organization which had so heavily invested in Israel is no longer part of Nokia and is now called BlueRun Ventures and has many investors now. Note that Nokia is still one of its investors, but its stake in Israel is now no more prominent than countless other technology companies who are not on the boycott list, so Nokia has also been removed from the list.

 

 

Arsenal FC

Following a concerted campaign, Arsenal Football Club’s contract with the Israeli Tourism board to promote Israel as the teams “official and exclusive travel destination” on its digital perimeter boards (to an estimated 700 million viewers in 198 countries) was not renewed. Subsequently, Arsenal FC has been removed from the boycott list. Note that Arsenal still runs ‘Arsenal in the Galilee’ coaching project in Israel.

 

 

Selfridges

Selfridges flagship store in London was picketed for stocking a range of settlement products including Ahava and soon a boycott of the store followed. It no longer sells Ahava Dead Sea products on its website, although it does advertise Estee Lauder Origins ‘body scrubs’ which include Dead Sea salts. As part of our strategy of a more focused boycott campaign where individual Israeli brands like Ahava are targeted, Selfridges in no longer on the boycott list.

 

 

Danone

Whilst Danone is still on the boycott list, it has gone through some changes and lost some of its famous brands and these are no longer on the boycott list. Jacob biscuits is now owned by United Biscuits; HP foods and Lea & Perrins is now owned by H.J. Heinz; and similarly Galbani and LU Biscuits are also no longer owned by Danone.

Qurbani — May the blood flow, Taqwa grow and…Allah be Pleased!

 

 

Assalamu-Aalykum

 

Human nature, unless corrupted, does not gain pleasure from displeasure. Thus, we find ourselves dreading the displeasure of people! Displeasure displays itself in various ways. When people are displeased with us or we are displeased with anyone, the displeasure would be conveyed in some way or the other.

 

We will perhaps be cold towards that person. We may even avoid that person. A person may tell someone even to get lost. However, the strongest revulsion must surely be when we tell someone “don’t even come near to me”.

 

Our beloved Nabi Salallahu alaihi wasallam displays such revulsion to those who do not perform Qurbani despite the means to do so, that he has banned them from coming even NEAR to THE Eidghah. Hadhrat Abu Hurairah Radiallahu anhu narrates that Rasulullah Sallahu alayhi wasallam said that the person who has means of performing Qurbani but does not do so should not even come NEAR our Eidghah.

 

The Best of Days are these Days. And the Best of Deeds in these days is  the deed of Qurbani.

Sayyidatuna Aa’ishah (Radiyallahu Anha) narrates that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “There is nothing dearer to Allah Ta’ala during the days of Qurbani than sacrificing of animals. The sacrificed animal shall come on the Day of Judgment with its horns, hair, and hooves (to be weighed). The sacrifice is accepted by Allah before the blood reaches the ground. Therefore sacrifice with an open and happy heart” (Tirmizi, Hadith #: 1493)

 

The Spirit of Qurbani: O, they looked like a bunch of wild unkempt tramps, these brothers of ours who were seen red-blood eyes. It was just after Eid-ul-Fitr. A mini bus filled with them with a trailer filled with bags and cooler boxes etc. Tired and fatigue was written all over their faces. It appeared that they returned from some war.

 

Their story is truly amazing. Year after year, they set out immediately after Eid-ul-Fits to search the mountains and the farms, the ranches and small holdings for the best of the best animals to please Allah Ta’ala. The search will continue for at least a week. Allah Ta’ala had blessed them with plenty of wealth. They wish to give Allah the Best of animals. And so they travel and take notes. And so they travel and debate. And so they travel and leave aside their comforts and families. They ache and they bleed, they despair and they fear failure. The best of animals it has to be. It is nopt just giving money or writing a cheque…it is something much more. It is eyes that search and scrutinise the animal. It is analysing the animal from tail to teeth. It is the sheer joy of beholding the beauty of the animal.

 

By Allah, even the angels marvel at this spirit, this understanding of what Qurbani is, this Love and Devotion unto Allah, Most High, this fierce commitment to find the best of the best! May Allah Taa’la make us like them where our faces become radiant with joy at the sight of the qurbani animal. May our hearts beat with Love for that Allah who has given us so much and asked for so little in return.

It has been mentioned that after being saved from the raging inferno of Namrud, as a token of Love and appreciation unto Allah Subhanahu wata’ala, Hadhrat Ebrahim alaihi salaam sacrificed 1000 rams, 300 oxen and 100 camels. When someone praised this enormous sacrifice,

Hadhrat Ebrahim alaihi salaam said:

 

“These sacrifices are nothing. Allah Ta’ala owns me and whatever I have. If I had a son, I would have sacrificed him as well!”

Allah Ta’ala granted him a son. Thirteen years after he made his statement, Allah Ta’ala reminded him of his words. Hadhrat Ebrahim alaihi salaam rose to the occasion and was prepared to match his words with deeds. What a level of Sidq (Truthfulness)!

On the other hand, how often do we not make boastful claims without realizing the implications of what we say? Many woman in angrily demand Talaaq; others challenge the husband to take another wife; husbands threaten that they will find another better wife; businessman make rash pledges — and yet when Allah Ta’ala puts one to test, we hopelessly fail.

HORRENDOUS SLAUGHTER OF MUSLIMS IN BURMA

 

BRUTAL BUTCHERY CONTINUES CURRENTLY BY THE FILTHY HANDS OF THE IDOL-WORSHIPPING BUDDHIST MONKS, BUDDHIST MASSES AND THE EVIL MILITARY RULERS
Even animals are not slaughtered in the manner in which Muslims are being butchered currently by the Buddhist idolaters in Burma (Myanmar). Pillage, plunder, rape, murder and destruction have become the order of the day for the unfortunate Muslims of Burma where a whole population is being exterminated – a process which has been in progress since the past few decades.

Burnt and mutilated Muslim bodies are stacked up in heaps for the public to view. Carpets of decomposing Muslim bodies are spread out in the open. Muslims, even baby’s, are flung from buildings into fires and on to the streets. Wretched idol-worshipping Buddhist ‘monks’ with pistols in hand are murdering unarmed Muslims with the connivance of the security forces. Babies are roasted in fires. Muslim properties are being torched.

Whilst the brutal massacre of Muslims is taking place at the hands of the Buddhist mushrikeen, Muslims here and elsewhere are indulging in ogres of merry-making functions, waste, reckless unconcern, haraam kuffaar sport, and even wine and dine functions. The hearts have become fossilized and cannot spare even a moment or a thought for sincere Dua.

Whilst there is NOTHING – NOTHING – ABSOLUTELY NOTHING we humiliated and transgressing Muslims can do to aid our brutalized brothers, mothers, sisters and children, we are expected to at least expel all the haraam from our lives and in the middle of the night supplicate with aching hearts to Allah Ta’ala to send His Nusrat (Aid), and to extricate this miserable, disobedient Ummah from the quagmire of shaitaaniyat (Satanism) and the drunken stupor of nafsaaniyat in which it is sinking to its destruction.
“And, when We intend to destroy a people, We command its affluent ones –
Then they indulge recklessly in immorality. Then the decree (of punishment) is confirmed for them. Then we utterly destroy them.”
(Al-Israa’, Aayat 16)

A WARNING: The extent to which the South African Muslim community –its masses and its molvis and sheikhs – is recklessly indulging in sin, evil and immorality, is a sign of Allah’s Athaab looming over our heads. Presenting a ludicrous argument in support of Dajjaal’s Eye (Television), one lost soul, Mr.Rafiq Shah who appears to be a bid’ati molvi, said: “We live in an age of  science and technology and in which social media, including television, plays a very crucial role in shaping ideas. ……..I think we need to get over this now. We don’t travel to Mecca on a camel for hajj. We travel by plane, so let’s not be hypocritical. The plane that we use uses the same technology that makes a fighter jet that kills people. It’s not the technology – its how you use it.”  (Sunday Times, 8 July 2012)
Riba, liquor, gambling, fornication, prostitution, etc. all  “play  a very crucial role in shaping ideas” in this immoral era in which the brains of the Ummah have become colonized by the West, hence the Bid’ati is so awed by the words ‘technology and science’.
Mr.Rafiq Shah, in this stupid comment, has only succeeded in portraying his jahaalat. He appears to be a fellow with his head deep under sand like an ostrich blissfully ignorant of what is happening and what has been said and what is being said about Dajjaal’s Eye, its consequences and the concomitant Shar’i ruling which condemns Dajjaal’s Eye as the primary instrument of vice and immorality in this so-called ‘technological’ age.
Perhaps Mr.Shah does not understand the English language, hence he so brazenly advertises his jahl-muraqqab  in his abovementioned disgorgement of drivel. Nowhere in any of their writings or statements did the enemies of Dajjaal’s Eye brand, damn and condemn television because of it being a product of technology. Mr.Shah appears to be ignorant of even the meaning of ‘science and technology’, terms which he uses flamboyantly without perhaps having the haziest idea of  the drivel  excreted by his mouth. Precisely for this reason did he consider it appropriate to respond to  the Haqq of  the Shariah with his fallacious ‘plane’ analogy. The analogy is  disgracefully stupid. The analogy would have had some credence if  the basis of the attack of the Shariah against Dajjaal’s Eye was technology. We call on this misguided  bid’ati fellow to cite just one statement from the deluge of anti-television attacks, which  criticizes  television because it happens to be a product of technology.
To fumigate his mind in an attempt  to eliminate some  of  the cobwebs which cloud his intellectual perception, this fellow firstly needs to understand all about the curse of Bid’ah, and that according to the Hadith, the bid’atis are Kilaabun Naar.  It will be salutary for Mr.Rafiq Shah to understand that technology is nothing new. It is not the enterprise of this century. Technology came into existence with the advent of Hadhrat Aadam (alayhis salaam) on earth. The primitive farm implements  which were in use in bygone times; the ox wagon, the donkey cart, the hammer, the sickle, knives, chairs, tables, bricks, and the myriad of other material, ways and means of life employed by man since Hadhrat Aadam’s era, were all products of technology regardless of the permittivity of their moulds and methods of manufacture. The primitive blacksmith was an engineer in his field just as the welder and other engineers  are technologists  in their fields. permittivity is not the negation of modern-day technology. On the contrary, the latter is merely built on the basis of the former and has  developed the former which constituted the foundations. Just as the first motor vehicle which looked like a glorified donkey cart was the product of technology, so too was the first ox cart and donkey cart products of technology of the age. Just as the first stupid-looking tractor was a product of technology, so too were primitive farm implements products of technology. The only difference between the primitive donkey cart and today’s truck/bakkie is the dimension of advancement. But both items are products of technology.
Just as all instruments of primitive technology are halaal, so too are the latest instruments of technology halaal. If  a primitive ox cart was utilized to transport  prostitutes, no one condemned  and banned the ox cart. In the same way, today the Ulama do not condemn and outlaw vehicles, planes,  and the millions of  instruments which are the products of  the technology of this era. What is condemned is the evil, the vice and immorality which a  medium such as Dajjal’s Eye disseminates. So when the Ulama say that television is haraam, they are not saying technology is haraam. Proffering the reasons – the Asbaabul Hurmat – the Factors of Prohibition – for condemning Dajjal’s Eye as evil and haraam, the NNB Jamiat of Fordsburg, conceding the validity of our argument and basis of attack, stated in its fork-tongued, hypocritical pamphlet:
“Television erodes our modesty; it weakens our Imaan; it is a means for committing zinaa of the eyes and attracts the displeasure of Allah. The greatest tragedy is that we have become immune to the sins we commit while watching television, some of which are:
•    Watching immorality, nudity, illicit sex, pornography, etc
•    Listening to obscene language and music
•    Incitement to fornicate and acceptance of aggression, and deceit as a mode of behaviour
•    Diversion from the remembrance of Allah and the hereafter
•    Erosion of hayaa and respect
Although there is nothing fork-tongued about this particular averment in which the NNB Jamiat of Fordsburg has been compelled to state the glaring Haqq which it (the NNB Jamiat) abhors, the balance of what the ulama-e-soo’ of the NNB Jamiat said in its statement is fork-tongued bunkum.
When even an ardent lover of Dajjaal’s Eye and an implacable enemy of the Haqq such as the NNB Jamiat of Fordsburg has conceded the validity of  the Shariah’s Asbaabul Hurmat which damn and ban Dajjaal’s Eye, among which there is no mention whatsoever of  technology being the basis of the attack, Mr.Shah should read and re-read what the opponents of Dajjaal’s Eye have said and argued for the Shariah’s Cause of Prohibition. But, Mr.Shah will understand the Haqq only if he sheds the dead albatross of Bid’ah which is strung around his neck, and which blinds  the brains of  a Muslim.
Let us assume momentarily that there is some validity in the fallacy of Muslims becoming ‘murtads’ in  consequence of  television-viewing. If this is the case, then the legalizers of television  will on the Day of Qiyaamah be  loaded with the burden of the irtidaad of all the murtads because  they (the ulama-e-soo’) had  declared this Eye of Dajjaal to be halaal, hence these unfortunate people indulged in the filth without any twinge of conscience, believing it to be halaal.
Secondly, if  thousands of people become murtad because of television propaganda, then let them take their path to Jahannum. Their irtidaad is by Allah’s Decree. These miserable murtads never were Muslim. They never had Imaan in their hearts, hence Allah Ta’ala  humiliated them by placing the seal of irtidaad on their tongues so that the world can witness these devils who had masqueraded as Muslims. But the irtidaad of hidden munaafiqeen can never halaalize what Allah Ta’ala has  unequivocally declared to be haraam such as Dajjaal’s Eye. Confound the ‘benefits’ of Dajjaal’s Eye. Television is Haraam, and so will it remain Haraam until the Say of Qiyaamah even if the entire Ummah indulges in the filth and immorality which spews out from Dajjaal’s Eye.  Mr.Shah and the NNB Jamniat can lick up the filth which Dajjaal’s Eye disgorges.
